I help teachers & teens with careers, mental health, stress & relationships. I help teachers achieve a work-life balance or leave teaching! #TeacherSupport #CareerCoach #TeenMentalHealth #WorkLifeBalance #CV DM me now!
A very wise headteacher of mine once said to me (when he realised how overwhelmed and exhausted I was, I was head of 2 subjects!) - "Eva, good is good enough". He is absolutely right, and honestly, you get no thanks for it! Being a perfectionist can lead to burnout due to the constant pressure to meet unrealistic standards, leading to stress and exhaustion. Striving for perfection in every lesson, marking, report writing and classroom interaction can be overwhelming and unsustainable, causing emotional and physical fatigue. Struggling with perfectionism comes from a place of low self worth. We care (excessively) what others think of us - and often go over and beyond, not to feel as if we are better than others, but to feel as if we are equal to others! I know this, as this was for many years! A perfectionist who eventually burnt out! After 25 years, I transitioned out of the classroom, and I'm now a life coach, supporting teachers and teens with aspects of their life that they are finding difficult. I work fully remotely, from hot countries by the beach. Currently in Almeria, Spain - to escape the miserable summer we're having currently in the UK - typing this from my sun lounger! Coaching can help teachers set realistic goals and prioritise tasks, reducing unnecessary stress. I hired a coach when I was struggling and I owe that to my new lifestyle, where I am self-employed, run 2 businesses, (A coaching business as well as being an self-employed independent travel agent). I travel non-stop and am the happiest I've been in years. I finally have the freedom, flexibility and fulfilment in my life that I have craved for years! Coaching can help you as it; Provides strategies for effective time management, enabling you to balance your workload more efficiently. #worklifebalance Coaching offers emotional support and practical advice, helping teachers develop healthier work habits and improve their overall well-being. Feel free to send me a DM to find out more about how coaching can help you, or your teenage children. https://lnkd.in/gVfmdeyG https://lnkd.in/gHbt8sMm #TeacherWellness #WorkLifeBalance #BurnoutPrevention #TeacherSupport #CoachingBenefits #TeenCoach #TeacherSupportCoach #CareerCoach #Relationshipcoach #MentalHealth

Academic Coordinator, International Baccalaureate DP(Theory of Knowledge ) lecturer, CRS teacher at British Nigerian Academy, Abuja, Nigeria.
In your experience as an Academic Coordinator, what are the most effective retention strategies? ✏️ Use the most common thing around learners to explain new ideas or new concepts is a natural antidote to long time retention of information. Consequently, that's we enables them apply the knowledge in real life situations and as such becomes part of life.

Teaching is simple. You have 1 job. Get the student closer to the desired outcome. How you do that can be summarised in 4 phrases: 1. “This is what we wanna do” 2. “Let me show you how” 3. “Now you try” 4. “Ok let’s do it together. Repeat 3 & 4 until you’re there. That’s it.

❓what are you hoping students experience on the first day of your class? For 1st day, I like to model the vital joy that comes from intellectual engagement—not so much the summer-camp-style “two truths and a lie thing,” which feels corny and inauthentic. 🌽 I use Eugeni Zuroski’s “Where do you know from?” to do this. (I’ll link to her description of the activity below) What do you do for an engaging but non-🌽 1st day?
