💡 🍎 The Epiphany of Newton And The Apple Logo What if we told you that the sleek and sophisticated logo design of the tech giant Apple had a “Newtonian” touch to it during the company’s early years? The company’s first-ever logo, designed by co-founder Ronald Wayne in 1976, depicted Sir Isaac Newton sitting beneath an apple tree reading a book along with a quote from William Wordsworth around its frame. Even though this logo was unique in all aspects and connected with the brand name in a more literal sense, it presented huge branding challenges. In 1977, Steve Jobs, one of the other co-founders, decided to hire Rob Janoff, a Graphic Designer, to revamp the logo design and bring it closer to his philosophy—simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. This led to the creation of Apple’s iconic “Bitten Apple” logo. #AppleLogo #IsaacNewton #GravityDiscovery #InnovationHistory #ScientificRevolution #BrandInspiration #LogoDesign #EurekaMoment

One fascinating fact about brand logo design is…. Logo design simplicity often leads to memorability and recognition. Many iconic logos, such as the Nike swoosh or the Apple logo, are incredibly simple in design. The human brain tends to process and remember uncomplicated shapes and forms more easily. This simplicity not only helps in creating a clean and timeless aesthetic but also contributes to the logo's effectiveness in leaving a lasting impression on consumers. And that lasting impression my friend is very crucial to the brand’s success. So, kindly keep this in mind when next you’re working on that logo design project. The simpler, the better👍🏽 Pic: A brand logo I worked on sometime ago. #branddesigner #motiondesigner

The more you force anything into a logo, the earlier it loses its charm and magic. Logos like Coca-Cola, Apple, McDonalds etc. look as new as ever no matter how many years you have been looking at them. Contrary to that, logos that are designed with pre-conceived ideas and notions start looking contrived and tiresome to the eye within months of their launch. It’s not to say that industry symbols should never be used in logo design. If an idea manages to achieve that effortlessly, without compromising on the more important aspects of good logo design, it must be explored by all means. In fact, the most creative logos ever created fall in this category. But understand the fact that creativity is not the cornerstone of good logo design. It’s simplicity, memorability, distinctiveness and appropriateness above all. #logodesigner #brandidentitydesign #logosbyjuggy

I made a big mistake—but it's not too late to fix it. Recently, I was working on a branding project and had completed 95% of the process. I had the brand strategy, sketches, logo design, mockups, and design elements all done. Everything seemed to be in place. But when I started working on the brand guidelines, I realized one major issue: the logo mark and wordmark weren’t working well together. The reason? Color balance—it was off, and the logo lacked harmony. So, I went back to the drawing board, experimented with different ideas, and ultimately came up with this "after" version (see image). Now, I’ll have to revisit each step of the process. But this time, I’m even more confident that the new logo will work better than the first. #logodesign #branding Which version do you prefer—Before or After?
