Accelerate Resources Limited (ASX:AX8) CEO Luke Meter sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss the company’s first drilling campaign at the Prinsep Lithium Project near Karratha in the West Pilbara region of Western Australia. Drilling follows surface sampling indicating lithium mineralisation up to 1.68% Li2O. The maiden program will involve 48 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes totalling 3,500 metres, targeting pegmatite discoveries over a 1,500-metre strike and widths up to 60 metres. The drilling is expected to be completed by the end of June, with samples sent in batches for assaying, which will have a turnaround time of about six weeks. According to Meter, this marks a significant milestone for the company as it targets lithium mineralisation down dip of outcropping mineralisation and new pegmatite sets hidden by cover. Lightning Minerals Ltd (ASX:L1M) has kicked off a 7,500-metre aircore drilling campaign at the E63/2000 tenement in the Dundas region of Western Australia, targeting multiple sample areas that returned greater than 100 parts per million (ppm) #lithium. The company will focus drilling on identified lithium, rubidium and caesium soil anomalies that graded up to 218 ppm lithium, trending northwest to southeast over a 2.6-kilometre by 1-kilometre area within the tenement. Encouragingly, the tenement sits just 8 kilometres east of Liontown Resources’ Buldania project, which already holds a mineral resource estimate of 14.9 million tonnes at 1% lithium oxide. A first-of-its-kind frac sand logistics solution set to debut in the Permian Basin later this year may help transform the way proppant is delivered to support hydraulic fracturing operations there. If it works as advertised, it will represent another advance in the streamlining of oil and gas production in the U.S.’s most prolific shale play. In today’s RBN blog, we‘ll explore how Atlas Energy Solutions aims to mechanize the delivery of sand to crude-oil-focused well sites in the Permian. https://lnkd.in/gg4f5CES

A growing list of E&Ps are exploring and delineating drilling locations in the Permian Basin's deeper benches, like the Barnett Shale, Woodford and Wolfcamp D plays. Experts think there are specific parts of the basin where these deep zones can compete for capital.
Barnett & Beyond: Marathon, Oxy, Peers Testing Deeper Permian Zones Marathon Oil, Occidental, Continental Resources and others are reaching under the Permian’s popular benches for new drilling locations. Analysts think there are areas of the basin where the Permian’s deeper zones can compete for capital. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g_ZZ5QQz

the biggest shale wells being drilled today
Where are the biggest shale wells being drilled today? Since 2023, we're forecasting >1 million barrel-equivalent ultimate production for 1,509 wells across Lower 48. The Permian dominates, but there are exciting developments in other basins too -- let's dig in! First, a little caveat: I am also filtering to wells with >750,000 barrels EUR, otherwise gas wells would dominate the list. Setting that aside, the Permian is the clear leader by this metric, with 1,449 million barrel wells drilled since 2023. The Delaware dominates, with over 90% of millionaire wells, reflecting the outlier nature of the basin. Taking out the Permian, the Uinta is the leading basin, with twenty-four 1MMBOE wells. Recently-acquired XCL Resources tops the ex-Permian chart with seventeen, and their in-basin neighbor Ovintiv comes in second with seven. (Shameless plug: reach out for a copy of our recent XCL-SM acquisition analysis to learn more about the deal). The Appalachian Utica comes in as the next-largest emerging million-boe play, with our models forecasting 10 wells since 2023 hitting that threshold. Encino, Antero, Ascent, and EOG show up on our list here. With a higher gas-fraction, these Utica-Pt. Pleasant wells standout on total recovery compared to the others on this list: they are essentially both massive oil and massive gas wells at the same time. Most of the remaining non-Permian million-boe wells are in classics like the Williston, Eagle Ford, and Anadarko, which are still turning out top-notch wells even 15+ years into their development. Impressive! #permian #uinta #utica #oilgas

Exciting news - yes. I have to add, that we all need to have confidence in the EU-driven process supported by the Norwegian Government, to establish a true growing industry around these critical minerals AND the critical products they enable the production of - making the world trade within these critical components more balanced and less prone to be used as geopolitical means of trade-pressure. We, at REE Minerals, certainly have the ambition to do our part - but we can not do it alone. #rareearthminerals #permanentmagnets #CRMA #supreemopartner
Exciting news! Based on the increasing public momentum supporting the development of the Fen field, we’re now preparing for an in-fill drilling program to produce an even better estimate of rare earth elements at the site. “This will be an important step for the company and for the development of the Fen field,” says Johannes Nævdal, chairman of the board of REE Minerals. Worth a repost. Apparently more effective completion technology is resulting in higher production rates in new and older established basins for resource plays. It would be enlightening to see these data using normalized completion data - EURs; which should highlight basins (or better yet areas within basins) with better rock.

CNX Resources, headquartered in Pittsburgh, is the latest major Marcellus/Utica driller to announce a pullback in spending and production due to low-low prices that natural gas is fetching. Yesterday, CNX announced the company will “delay completions activities on three upcoming Marcellus Shale pads consisting of 11 wells to avoid bringing incremental volumes into the current oversupplied market.” The delay means CNX will spend $50 million less on drilling in 2024 and produce 30 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) less over the course of this year.
