Insights from Zollikofer's Annual Meeting: Challenges, Opportunities, and Team Building 📊 💡 🤝 At our annual meeting with Zollikofer's regional and international teams, the focus was not only on exchanging ideas about current challenges and developments but also on strengthening our team bond. Over the course of two days, all departments had the opportunity to share their recent successes and challenges, and reflect together with colleagues from various areas. Key Topics: Each department shared their experiences and presented a SWOT analysis for the future direction of the company. Particularly interesting were the insights into the changes in the wood market: The sector continues to face significant challenges, with new market entrants and the ongoing weakness of the economy, especially in the construction industry, putting pressure on the industry. Our Conclusion: Despite the uncertain market conditions, the Zollikofer Group is well-prepared for the future with a broad product portfolio and an experienced team. What stands out as especially important is the recognition that stronger communication and collaboration within the team are key to our success. We have already developed concrete measures to enhance this, which we plan to implement over the coming months. External Insights and Exciting Tours: A highlight of the event was the external input we received from Nicolas Christoph, Head of the Wind Power Division at Koehler Renewable Energy. Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit the combined heat and power plant at Koehler Paper's Oberkirch site, as well as gain fascinating insights into the world of the Julius Renner Winery. Such events remind us of the value of personal exchange and the collaborative process of finding solutions within a strong team. Ambassadors of the past: at Vaess, working here means staying connected for life. In 2024, four remarkable, former employees of #Vaess, Dutch food engineers, formerly known as Vaessen-Schoemaker, were celebrating their 81st birthday. Together, Willy Heppenhuis, Jan Quist, Gerhard Schepers and Dick Coulier dedicated an extraordinary 145 years and 5 months of service to the company. 🌎 For #WorldCleanUpDay, colleagues from STI-Scandinavia AB joined forces with our sister company HAVI Sverige in Tumba and the STI (Deutschland) GmbH team alongside the HAVI Germany team in Duisburg. Armed with gloves, pick-up forks, and plenty of motivation, the teams were ready to collect litter and showcase great #teamwork across borders. What appeared to be clean areas revealed a surprising amount of waste upon closer inspection. 🔍 It’s incredible to see what the teams collected. This experience serves as a reminder of how easily litter can accumulate unnoticed. It also highlights the significant impact that waste has on our environment and underscores the importance of caring for our shared spaces. 🖼 A big thank you to all team members in Sweden and Germany who contributed their time and effort to this initiative. 👏 Let's not wait for another World Clean Up Day to make a difference; by staying mindful in our daily lives, we can all play a part in creating a #cleaner, #healthier environment. Exciting times for air up! 🌍 💚 Last week marked a major milestone for air up®: the machine acceptance test for our new Pod Box machine in the Netherlands. My co-founder Fabian was there to witness it, and it’s the start of an exciting new chapter for us. ✨ With this machine, we’re introducing a fully paper-based solution for air up Pods, setting a new standard for sustainable packaging. 🌱 But that’s not all—this is also the birth of Pod City, the vision of Tobias Klostermann brought to life. Pod City is a central hub where Pod production, packaging, and fulfillment all happen under one roof, minimizing the need for truck transport between production sites and warehouses across Europe. 🚚 This not only simplifies our supply chain but significantly reduces our environmental footprint. Choosing the right partner to make this vision a reality was no small task. We started by evaluating 17 potential suppliers, using 133 criteria to assess quality, manufacturing capabilities, and fulfillment expertise. After an in-depth selection process—including pitches and audits—we chose Kuehne+Nagel as our Pod City partner. Their professionalism and strategic location in Veghel, Netherlands, make them the perfect fit for this ambitious project. This collaboration helps us keep our promise to rethink hydration while minimizing environmental impact. 🤝 Moments like this remind me how far we’ve come—and how much we owe to the incredible team at air up—you all make this possible.
