Imagine a world where the security you once felt is suddenly shattered. A group of individuals, fueled by anger and misinformation, begin to spread their ideologies across the digital realm. It's a chilling reality that we must confront. These militia extremist groups have been lurking in the shadows, biding their time and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They use social media platforms like Facebook to recruit new members and amplify their dangerous rhetoric. Their tactics are insidious, targeting vulnerable individuals with promises of belonging and a sense of purpose. But we cannot stand idly by and let these groups continue to thrive. It's time to raise our voices and take a stand against the spread of hate and extremism. We must educate ourselves and our communities about the dangers these groups pose to our society. By fostering open and honest conversations, we can counter their narratives and prevent them from gaining further traction. Remember, the strength of our society lies in our diversity and our ability to come together in times of adversity. ❝When a woman becomes a widow during a conflict, her limited resources and lack of institutional support make her and her dependents far more susceptible to various types of harm.❞ Though widows can be more vulnerable to threats such as sexual violence, forced remarriage, exploitation, human trafficking, forced displacement and extremist recruitment, they are continuously rendered invisible in the Women, Peace, Security narrative and often excluded from conflict resolution plans. This needs to change. NEW: According to new research from the European Union, 90% of Jewish Europeans report experiencing anti-Jewish bigotry online and 56% offline, leading more than 3 in 4 to conceal their identity to protect themselves. These startling numbers are a stark reminder of the urgency and necessity of our work to combat Jew-hatred in our online spaces, for a safer, brighter future for all.
