On today's hiring and HR funny, we have compiled a list of the weirdest **dirty background** situations we have seen this year. - Candidate background report indicated that the candidate had been to jail and spent 2 nights in jail as a result of a series of unfortunate events. The candidate indicated that he did not remember having been to jail. - The drug test lab called us and informed us that the urine test had come back inconclusive because of incorrect temperature, which was likely a result of the candidate leaving the urine in the car dashboard to heat it up before sneaking it into the lab. It was hotter than humanly possible. - Candidate has a dirty background come back with a reckless driving for going 3 times the legal speed limit. He was provided 5 days to evaluate and contest (in the event there was an error on the report). He said he would "think about it and get back to us." PSA: If you have something on your record, work with your team. It might not be a deal breaker - it depends on the companies specific policies and the nature of your offense. (Yes, most states have "ban the box" however they can still not hire you especially if its a driving role and you can't be insured!! Don't waste your own time.)

Do you like puzzles and problem solving? Hiring 2 audit schedulers for North America. We have about 2,000 human rights investigations/audits annually in Canada and the US (all 50 states). Businesses are emailed and called to set up audit dates (or notifications of a future semi-unannounced visit). Some auditors are ok being assigned any audits and other auditors pick and choose which work they want to do. After hundreds of emails and calls and mapping out drive times and night shifts, you will have a perfect trip planned out for the audit team and the client will cancel their audits, there will be a snowstorm, the auditor will get sick, the supplier will ask to reschedule. You start your logistics puzzle all over again. It can be very frustrating. You book your teams out 2-3 months out and a client asks if you can do 20 audits in the next 2 weeks. You have to shuffle your teams and reschedule audits to accommodate. Constant change. The work is never done. Did I mention that clients are often unreasonable? Suppliers can be rude. Auditors can be exhausted. For Arche Advisors, our schedulers are the tip of the spear, often the first contact a supplier/business has in the pre-audit process. Preparation is one of the key activities to finding high risk issues at a human rights assessment and schedulers are the start of this information-gathering process. We are looking for 1 scheduler to be based in our St George, Utah office and 1 scheduler to be based east of the Mississippi, but working East Coast hours. Will train.
