This past weekend, 84 students from 10 universities across Norway competed fiercely in the Student National Championship, racing the same J/70 boats used in the Norwegian Sailing League—proudly sponsored by Höegh Autoliners. The league format has been key in keeping more sailors active, even after they begin their studies. “It has opened up sailing for many young sailors who have moved away from home and no longer have their own boats,” says Per Christian Bordal of the Norwegian Sailing Federation. As Magnus Hedemark, project manager for the Norwegian Sailing League, adds: “The Norwegian Sailing League will celebrate its 10th season next year, but the real impact has been in the past three years. Without your support, none of this would have been possible.
