2024 Black Business Breakfast Attending the 2024 Black Business Breakfast was a privilege, which the Atlanta Global Shapers Community and Dutch Consulate of the Netherlands jointly presented at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. This event underscored the importance of global perspectives in shaping the future of Black-owned businesses. One key takeaway from the insightful discussions was the need for Black business owners to explore funding opportunities on a global scale beyond the borders of the United States. By expanding their reach, entrepreneurs can tap into diverse sources of funding and support, unlocking new avenues for growth and innovation. Moreover, participants highlighted the significance of developing strong relationships and ensuring operational excellence in their businesses' front and back ends. In 2021, I participated and won second place in the HCC Business Plan Competition hosted by Houston Community College. It was the boost that we needed at that time to continue our pivot into new spaces and industries, and was also a huge motivator for me personally because it was the first time I participated in a business pitch competition. Now the HCC Business Plan Competition is open and accepting new applications for its 2024 competition through January 26, 2024. There is a virtual orientation and reception happening on January 11th if you have questions and want to learn more about this opportunity.
