So disappointed our civil construction trade occupations are not included in the Australian Apprenticeship Priority List. Again ! Our civil trade occupations are listed on the National Skills Priority List and yet not supported or acknowledged on the AAPL. Why ? Our civil apprentices are critical to our infrastructure workforce (roads, tunnels, bridges, utilities, earthworks, traffic, pipelaying) - these apprentices and the businesses who employ them deserve more from our Federal Government. #apprenticeships #southaustralia #civilconstruction

As you can see from the numbers we highlight in just some of our many accomplishments during 2023, it is clear that we are advancing toward key project and program goals. We pursue these goals because it matters to our businesses, it matters to the workforce they hire, and it matters to the customers they serve. The Boulder Chamber is working for you through: ▶️Pioneering micro-mobility advancements by playing a crucial role in making e-scooters widely available in the City of Boulder. In September 2023, Lime eScooters expanded their service area city-wide, adding over 600 scooters. ▶️Established funding for workforce housing by partnering in the campaign for passage of County Issue 1B, creating $18.5M annual funding for affordable and attainable housing county-wide and advocating for secured zoning for the addition of 426 new attainable housing units along the Diagonal Highway, a major regional workforce corridor. ▶️Expanding career pathways by adding three new apprenticeship pathways to the Boulder Chamber apprenticeship program, with 5 more in the pipeline! In 2023, we worked to foster career growth by successfully graduating 14 adult apprentices in Healthcare and Manufacturing and welcoming 10 new apprentices. Last week First Intuition sponsored AELP's patron dinner, with Managing Director Amy Forrest speaking alongside the Skills Minister, Rt Hon Robert Halfon MP and AELP’s new CEO Ben Rowland about the key challenges facing the FE sector. It was great to hear that AELP’s concerns surrounding apprenticeship funding are aligned with First Intuition’s and that they are echoing communications to senior policymakers in government to find solutions to these concerns. Below are some of the changes needed from government officials to the FE sector to help support apprentices and employers: 1️⃣ The need for an increase in funding bands for all apprenticeship standards 2️⃣ Automatic inflationary increases to funding bands  3️⃣ The full amount raised from the Apprenticeship Levy should go the Apprenticeship Budget 4️⃣ Alternative training options at level 2  5️⃣ Clarity over which costs the funding covers
