💚 We pride ourselves on putting people at the forefront of everything we do 💚 Ashlea helped someone find their dream job recently, and this was their feedback: "I have a skill set that is, although rare, not in a great deal of demand. Ashlea had a position that I was suitable for but did not precisely match. What she did that other recruitment agencies did not, was listen to what I had to offer and have a conversation about how I go about the work. She engaged with the human and not only the requirements list. Ashlea was able to see how I would be able to contribute to my employer's mission and ask them to consider me. I assume Ashlea provided a great service to her client, my employer, but I can wholeheartedly state that she supported me through the process, offering advice on CV formatting, cover letter composition, and reviewing my interview material. If you are considering using a recruiter for your tech industry position, please give Ashlea and her team the task of finding your next staff member." People are getting frustrated at the lack of engagement from recruiters. 😔 It's disheartening to put time and effort into applications without even a simple acknowledgment. 🙈 While it's easy to get angry and demand change, the reality is that the hiring process can be overwhelming, especially with hundreds of applicants vying for the same position. 🌱 Instead of focusing on what you can't control, shift your energy towards becoming the candidate they can't ignore. 📄This means crafting a compelling CV that highlights your relevant skills and experience, tailoring your applications to each specific role, and practicing your interview techniques to showcase your abilities and personality. 🤝 If you're struggling to get noticed, consider investing in yourself by having a consultation with me. 💪I can provide objective feedback on your CV, cover letter, and interview skills, helping you identify areas for improvement and gain a competitive edge. 😍 Remember, you have the power to change your story. Invest in yourself, refine your approach, and land that dream role! #jobsearch #careers #recruitment #careernavigation #breakthecycle

Here's the thing, recruiter's don't just find CV's for your jobs. A good recruiter finds the people that you'll want to offer the job to AND that will want to accept. In reality, we should know when you make an offer whether that person is going to say yes (and if there were any glaring, unsolvable issues, then we shouldn't have got that far). However we're hearing of lots of recruitment processes are going back to the drawing board after offer stage 🙄 As an external recruitment expert, I get to have a lot of very honest conversations and have got very good at unpicking issues, understanding motivations and finding solutions. Some of the best hires I have made have been complex and challenging, and could very easily have fallen over along the way! We do a lot more than just send CV's! If you would like to find out how you can be celebrating your next hire rather than starting all over again, I'd love to talk. #ChangeandTransformation #Recruitment #NotJustCV's

70% of job applicants admit to lying on a resume 😲 As a recruiter, these statistics are concerning to me. In a landscape where authenticity is paramount, it's alarming to see such a prevalence of embellishment in job applications. But let's delve deeper into what this means for both candidates and recruiters alike. Authenticity is the cornerstone of any successful professional relationship. For candidates, your genuine skills and experiences are your greatest assets. Instead of embellishing, focus on showcasing your true strengths. For recruiters, diligence is key. Conducting thorough interviews and reference checks ensures informed hiring decisions. Let's strive for a recruitment process built on trust, honesty, and authenticity. Together, we can create opportunities for genuine connections and meaningful contributions in the workplace. #Recruitment #Hiring

Dear Recruiters, I would appreciate hearing your perspective on how you view CVs and resumes. Personally, I see them as a brief synopsis of an individual—much like a book or novel condensed into a format that allows recruiters to quickly grasp key information. This summary helps in determining whether it is worthwhile to invite the candidate for an in-person interview, where they can elaborate on their experiences and what they could bring to the company. It is important to avoid making judgments solely based on the CV or resume. Candidates often have valuable insights and accomplishments that may not be fully captured in their written application. An interview provides an opportunity to uncover these details and make a more informed decision about their fit for the role. Every candidate deserves a fair chance. By giving them the opportunity to discuss their experiences, we can better understand their potential and make more equitable hiring decisions. #EmpowerCandidates #FairHiring #ResumePerspective #TalentAcquisition #EqualOpportunity

Early in my recruitment journey, I rejected the same applicant’s CV twice.... The third time, a colleague (Annie!) gave her a chance and met her. What happened next? She aced the interview with our client and got the job. This experience taught me something crucial: a CV isn’t even part of the whole story. And here we are, that candidate and I (Eleanor) 24 years later, putting the world to rights over a cup of tea at the House of Lords. As recruiters, it's our job to see beyond the words on the page and recognise the potential in people that might not be immediately obvious. Everyone deserves a chance to shine. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #Recruitment #TalentSpotting #CareerGrowth #Hiring #Potential

Question of the day? ⁉ This one's for Hiring Managers, Recruiters and Talent Acquisitions. What makes a CV 'stand out'? I've always hated that term. What does it mean? As a recruiter, usually I'm looking for a CV showing an overview of their complete work history, a small personal statement and qualifications if any. Having seen both ends of the scopes of 10 page CV's of their personal background and still leaving out key information or on the other hand CV's with a single job role stating below; 'I need a job.' 📝 I've seen it all. In my opinion CV's are to be short and concise, showcase the above mentioned criteria with a dash of personality. It doesn't need to be 10 pages long, leave something for a screening chat with a potential employer or a recruiter and you'll find greater success. 🏆 I can't be the only one right. 🤦♂️ #Recruitment #CV #NewRole

In recruitment, it's easy to get lost in a sea of resumes and qualifications. But the real magic happens when we look beyond the paper. I recently placed a candidate in a senior position where, on paper, they weren't the most obvious choice. What stood out was their adaptability and approach to problem-solving. During the interview, they shared a time when they had to turn around a failing project with limited resources. This real-life example showcased their resilience, creativity, and ability to thrive under pressure—qualities that aren’t always easy to spot in a resume but make all the difference. The lesson? The perfect fit isn't always the most obvious one. Look beyond the qualifications and focus on the candidate’s story, how they’ve tackled real challenges, and their potential to grow. As recruiters, our role goes beyond matching skills to job descriptions. We connect potential to opportunity. What’s one quality you value most in a candidate that might not stand out on a resume? Let’s discuss! #Recruitment #Hiring #CareerGrowth #JobSearch #TalentAcquisition #JPJStaffing

How to Reach Out to a Recruiter Effectively As a recruiter, I receive many CVs every day, and I’ve noticed several common mistakes. Here are some tips to help your CV stand out: - Clearly Mention the Job Role: Always specify the job you are applying for. A well-defined objective that aligns with the role can make a significant difference. - Match Your CV to the Role: Ensure your CV reflects the skills and experience relevant to the specific job. Sending the same CV for multiple roles can reduce your chances of getting a response. - Focus on Stability: Organizations look for candidates who are likely to stay long-term. Highlight your commitment and stability in your CV. - Target the Right Recruiter: Make sure the recruiter you’re reaching out to is hiring for the type of role you’re looking for (tech or non-tech). - Timing Matters: Send your CV on a working day, ideally early in the day, to increase its chances of being prioritized. Avoid sending CVs on weekends. #JobSearchTips #Recruitment #CareerAdvice #Hiring #CVTips #ProfessionalGrowth #JobHunting #ResumeTips #JobSeekerAdvice #JobApplicationTips #WorkSmart

In today’s job market, it feels like the process of applying and hiring has lost its sincerity. Candidates like myself put in relentless effort, applying to 25+ jobs daily, crafting resumes, writing cover letters, and preparing for interviews—only to receive no response from companies. What’s worse is when there’s a single call or an interview, and then... silence. No follow-up, no feedback. It leaves us wondering, What went wrong? As professionals, we understand that not every candidate can be selected, but a simple acknowledgment or update can go a long way. The lack of communication is truly disheartening and demotivating. To all companies and recruiters: A little empathy and respect for candidates’ time and effort can make the hiring process more humane. To those in the same boat: Stay strong. Keep pushing forward, and don’t lose hope—your hard work will pay off. Let’s hope for a change where the hiring process becomes more transparent, respectful, and professional. #JobSearch #HiringProcess #RespectCandidates #Professionalism
