The Delta Conveyance Project is a critical initiative aimed at modernizing California’s water delivery infrastructure, ensuring long-term water reliability for millions of residents, farms, and businesses across the state. 🌿 By addressing vulnerabilities in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta — which supplies water to about 27 million Californians and 3 million acres of farmland — this project will help secure water supplies against climate change, rising sea levels, and seismic risks. It also promotes ecosystem health, ensuring that vital habitats in the Delta region are preserved. 🚧 Key Milestones: 2020: California Department of Water Resources (DWR) began the environmental review process for the project. 2022: Release of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for public review, providing a comprehensive look at the potential impacts and benefits of the project. 2024: Expected completion of the Final EIR and the start of permitting processes. 2028: Project construction could potentially begin, depending on approvals, funding, and permitting timelines. 🚧 Key Benefits: Resilience: Protecting water supplies from earthquakes, sea-level rise, and severe droughts. Sustainability: Minimizing environmental impacts and helping preserve the Delta’s unique ecosystem. Economic Impact: Boosting California’s agriculture and urban sectors by securing reliable water for the future. As the state continues to grapple with climate challenges, the estimated $20BN Delta Conveyance Project serves as a bold step toward a more sustainable and resilient water future. 🌎 Let’s keep pushing forward on essential infrastructure projects like this to ensure the health of our environment and communities! #WaterResilience #Infrastructure #CivilEngineering #DeltaConveyance #Sustainability #ClimateAdaptation #CaliforniaWater

One of our top priorities here at Caledonian Climate is to provide our landholding clients with peace of mind, taking responsibility for the direct burden of a peatland project so that they don’t have to! Here's how we do it: 🦺 We survey, design and manage projects from day one, right through to completion and beyond - all with our in-house team of environmental experts. ✍🏼 We manage competitive tender processes to secure specialist restoration contractors to carry out restoration works. 🤝 We work with local contractors who are familiar with the often challenging, remote landscape. 📑 We handle all the administration that comes with independent validation and verifications under the IUCN Peatland Code. 🏔️ We provide an ongoing monitoring and maintenance service with follow-up reporting to ensure the delivery of all anticipated outcomes. Head to our website to read more about the process of starting up a peatland restoration project with us! https://buff.ly/3z1NLxt #PeatlandRestoration #GenerationRestoration #NetZero #NatureBasedSolution #ClimateChange #Landholder

Millions are spent on Environmental Issues between the Stream Restorations and the Southeast Durham Watershed Improvement Plan Study. In Summary the Southeast Durham Watershed Improvement Plan Study to CREATE A PLAN of Action cost Durham City and County a total of $3,130,729.47. The final cost to repair the watershed is unknown. Stream restorations occur regularly. The three I shared earlier this week cost a total of $2,636,800. 1.~Grove Park Restoration Project in 2022 to protect Little Lick Creek. TOTAL cost $1,476,800. 2.~Marbrey-Jackson Restoration Project completed in spring of 2020 to protect Panther Creek. TOTAL cost $760,000 3.~Walker Project completed in spring of 2019 to fix a tributary of Little Lick Creek cost $400,000. Millions are spent to restore Linear Feet of creeks/streams in the stream restoration projects. How do we know these projects are sustainable? What can we do to prevent the need to spend millions on the stream restorations?

Framework for recovering the 450 GL in the M-DB https://lnkd.in/g9vi6pJg
The draft framework for delivering the 450 GL outlines our approach to water recovery in the Murray-Darling Basin. As part of our approach, we are introducing 3 new programs: 🏞️ Resilient Rivers Water Infrastructure Program - infrastructure projects, rules changes, land and water partnerships, and other ways to recover water with the state-led pathway available now 💧 Voluntary Water Purchase Program - purchase of water entitlements from willing sellers 🧑🤝🧑 Sustainable Communities Program - adjustment assistance for Basin communities impacted by voluntary water purchase Read the framework to learn more about these programs and have your say. #RestoringOurRivers #WaterRecovery #MurrayDarling #Basin #MDB #DCCEEW #Communities

🌿💧 Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) is the future of sustainable stormwater management! Not only does GSI reduce runoff, pollution and flooding, but it also enriches our landscapes with native plants and creates essential habitats for pollinators. While GSI stormwater devices do require maintenance, the upkeep is in line with typical landscaping practices. GSI is a smart, feasible and worthwhile investment for our environment. Check out this video created by Wake County and the City of Raleigh Municipal Government, in partnership with the Wake County Water Partnership, to learn more! #GreenInfrastructure #StormwaterManagement #CreatingExperiencesThroughExperience https://lnkd.in/eEFPkwed
