At todayโs exclusive pre-evening networking of the HYDROVERSE CONVENTION, our CEO Uwe Kerkmann, Andre Boschem and Thomas Kufen, Lord Mayor of Essen, discussed what makes Essen an outstanding location for hydrogen business in Germany. We invited more than 100 European experts (including the Hydrogen Advisory Board of Essen), mostly C-level decision makers, start-ups and investors that are active in the H2 industry. ๐๐ก๐๐ญ ๐ฆ๐๐ค๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ง ๐ฌ๐จ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐๐ข๐๐ฅ? ๐ Essen is the โEnergy Capital of Europeโ and home to the driving forces behind the energy transition: Renewable energies, green hydrogen or resource efficiency - this is where corporations, SMEs, innovative start-ups and renowned research institutions are driving the development of new technologies and providing sustainable and climate-neutral solutions to energy and environmental challenges. ๐ The unique energy community in Essen attracts start-ups: We invite them to join our networks and bring fresh ideas and approaches to the city. Institutions supporting hydrogen or energy start-ups (besides us ๐) include the Start-up-Team from EWG - Essener Wirtschaftsfรถrderung and our โpartner in crimeโ BRYCK.COM, which offers co-working facilities and programs to support the development of an ecosystem in Essen. ๐ Hydrogen start-ups are a particular focus in Essen: The EWG offers a growth program for selected international hydrogen scale-ups (HyTechCheck) and the H2UB supports the start-ups once they are in Essen. The focus is on technological and legal advice and on adapting technology and business models to the German market. What a start for the annual HYDROVERSE CONVENTION! Together with friends, partners, supporters and some of our speakers we had a great time catching up, warming up and celebration the vibrant network we built in only two and a half years ๐. We were honored by Lord Mayor of Essen, Thomas Kufen, who extended the invitation also to the Hydrogen Advisory Board of Essen to meet and great our international start-ups. The event took place at the picturesque FUNKE Rooftop and provided the perfect setting for inspiring conversations and new contacts before today's main event.
