Our latest 2024 Work Trend Index report “AI at Work Is Here. Now Comes the Hard Part” looks at how AI is changing the way we work, manage teams, and hire talent around the world. The report draws insights from a survey of 31,000 knowledge workers across 31 countries, LinkedIn hiring trends, Microsoft 365 productivity metrics, and research with Fortune 500 customers. Highlights: Employees want AI at work, and they wont wait for companies to catch up. AI tools are quickly becoming a staple in the workplace, with 75% of knowledge workers currently using AI at work. For employees, AI raises the bar and break the ceiling. 66% of leaders saying they would not hire someone without AI skills, the impact of AI on the job market is already apparent, highlighting the increasing importance of AI proficiency in the workforce. The rise of AI power user and what they reveal about work. Reflecting on an inspiring Linkedin Impact Summit last week, and gathering my thoughts from our panel in London alongside Binda Patel and Ben Murphy-Ryan. I was delighted that many arms shot up when asked "do you use AI daily?". This aligns well with our recent Work Trend Index which indicates that employees want to embrace AI without waiting for companies to lead the way. This enthusiasm reflects the feisty spirit often found among nonprofit colleagues. I felt a deep sense respect that Binda Patel managed to obtain technology investment in order to scale their great work for young people, in spite of the current very difficult landscape with funding. This is another demonstration of the feisty spirit to optimise and innovate. I am reminded that much of social innovation have roots in nonprofits and communities, such as peer to peer funding, microfinance, social enterprise, open source to name a few. I believe this innovation will continue long after the event. And many other learnings articulated by the wonderful Devi Thomas below. Thank you for being at the Summit, and for having me.
