🚉 Did you Know? How Japan Uses QR Codes to Keep Train Doors Safe 🚦 In Japan, train safety isn’t just about speed and efficiency—it’s about keeping passengers safe at every step, especially when doors open and close. Here’s where QR codes come in! 1. QR codes are placed on the platform and near train doors. 2. When a train stops, sensors check these codes to make sure the train and doors are perfectly aligned. 3. If anything is off, the doors won’t close until it’s safe. Why This Matters: • Prevents accidents: No more doors closing when people are in the way. • Simple but effective: A low-cost solution with a big safety impact. • Trustworthy system: Passengers can travel with peace of mind. This is just another example of how Japan combines smart technology with everyday solutions to make life safer and better for everyone. Would you like to see tech like this in your country’s transport system? PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OF YANGON ( YANGON BUS SERVICES -YBS) In modern transit systems, technology plays a pivotal role. It enhances efficiency, safety, and user experience. In South East Asia, Myanamr ( Yangon ) stands out in an unique position after Singapore to have successfully integrated all the technologies mentioned underneath. Technology in transit not only simplifies the travel process but also adds layers of safety and convenience and understanding them will enhance your travel experience and builds up your confidence. They are as follows:- 1.GPS (Global Positioning System). A system that uses satellites to provide location and time information. All Bus operators in Yangon uses a backend telematics software platform to monitor their respectivefleets. 2.YPS Card (Automatic Fare collection). A reusable smart card used for electronic ticketing in public transport, especially in Yangon. 3.QR CODE (MPYps App) . QR codes ( Quick Response codes) are two dimensional codes that you can scan with a smartphone. The code contains information, like URL, contact data, calendar data, email addresses, phone numbers, plain text, and geolocations. 4.Contactless Payment. A method of paying for services with an IC Card, or mobile device without physical contact. 5.BUS LED ( Yangon Bus Media) . A digital screen that shows transit awareness and entertainment for bus passengers. 6.Public Address System. An electronic system used for making announcements in public areas. Bus stop announcement services. 7.Surveillance System. Cameras and equipment used for monitoring activities inside and outside of the buses. 8.Automatic Door. Doors, especially in trains or buses, that open and close automatically. 9.Bus Stops. #AmsterdamAPSvisit I visited several automated parking system projects in Amsterdam during the Intertraffic. Really different market comparing to China market. And the visit solved my question why pallet or even slow system can be used in EU. Some key learning as below: In EU APS project. 1. Much smaller project size, the largest is around 200 parking space with 3 transfer cabins, while most others below 100 with 1 cabin only. 2. Mainly location is underground 3. All pallet solutions, some with EV Charing but practically can not be used. 4. All for season parking, but not for public use. Users have quite good patience and average 7-10 minutes waiting time is acceptable to them. 5. All are fully automated and no on-site maintenance workers or operation service there. 6. Cabins are simple, not using really high-tech but seems logics and natural. 7. Not frequent use, the largest one project obviously have some cabin and system software issues or bugs that trapped some users there. But others operation seem to be quite smooth. 8. Btw, the vehicle size here is reasonale size, less models comparing to China, and smaller/shorter than that in US/Middle East market. More EV cars. In that sense, it seems EU APS projects and vendors are pretty comfortable on what they have and doing. :)

Enhancing Safety at Bus Stops in Australia: Innovative Solutions for Drivers and Passengers Safety at bus stops is a top priority, and as our transportation systems evolve, so too should our approach to keeping both drivers and passengers secure. Here are a few suggestions to improve safety and make our bus stops smarter, safer, and more efficient: 1. Solar-Based Lighting: Introduce solar-powered lighting at bus stops to improve visibility during night hours. Illuminated signs and boards will help both drivers and passengers see key information clearly, contributing to safer interactions at bus stops, while also offering a sustainable solution for energy efficiency. 2. Sound-Activated Warnings & Flashing Lights: Install sound-activated warnings or flashing lights to alert drivers when vehicles are illegally parked in restricted zones near bus stops. This system can automatically activate when unauthorized vehicles are detected, enhancing safety and preventing accidents in these high-traffic areas. 3. App-Based Bus Notifications: Many passengers are engaged with their phones. By offering app-based notifications about approaching buses, passengers can receive real-time alerts, including an option to set a destination and get reminded when to alight. This feature can reduce missed stops and improve overall efficiency. 4. App-Based Card Tagging: Introduce an app-based "tag-on, tag-off" system that tracks card usage and makes it user friendly. This can be integrated into digital wallets, making it easier for users to manage their transport cards and avoid disruptions to their travel. This also prevents misplacing of cards and ease of top up and usage. These innovations not only boost safety but also improve the passenger experience, creating a more seamless and secure public transport system. #TransportInnovation #PublicTransportSafety #UrbanMobility #Sustainability #Australia #perth #SmartCities #TechForGood

Checking in on China’s robotaxis, we’re reminded that they are having both successes and struggles: - Demand is being helped with below-market-rate fares. - “Increasingly more Chinese cities are rolling out policies to promote self-driving services though, part of a national push for tech supremacy.” - “ultimate responsibility for safety still lies with human officers monitoring rides remotely.” - They’re still working on being able to work reliably at scale. - There has been one fatality and a collision with a pedestrian. https://lnkd.in/eah_WJYr
