Lp(a) International Taskforce collaboration meeting with European Atherosclerosis Society Leadership. An important milestone in reconfirming the commitment to collaborate on the strategic initiatives which will drive forward #awareness of elevated Lp(a), #screening - measuring the levels, providing scientific and economic rational for including Lp(a) in the standard of #CVD #prevention plans, building #policies based on #scientific #evidence and medical guidelines, proposing prototypes for best practice based on the #livinglabs findings. With a very strong and clear patient voice and quality of life thread across all actions. Now it is agreeing on the details: who, what, when, how, why. Modeled after the famed NCAA March Madness bracket, statnews ir has launched a competition to determine the nation’s most innovative and impactful research of the last year. University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute’s Limb Salvage innovation is a finalist and voting begins today. With the idea of using transcatheter arterialization of the deep veins to save limbs, experts led the development of a minimally invasive approach – which diverts the blood from the diseased arteries into the veins in the calf and gets oxygenated blood to the foot – UH co-led the clinical trials showing that 76% of patients could avoid amputation and experience wound healing. After the New England Journal of Medicine published the results of these trials, the FDA approved the procedure.   You may vote once per day. Furthermore, as you might have seen in our program overview, we have several topics you can assign your abstract to. Including a new format called 'fringe sessions'. We encourage you to apply for these sessions if you offer novel, unusual perspectives, showcase interesting unexplained findings, or defend out-of-the-box hypotheses. These sessions are particularly designed to engage the audience and foster interaction and discussion.
