Lynn's webinar, "Beyond Tradition: What's New in Leadership Succession Strategies" was hosted by Merit HR (Merit Resource Group). It was nice to see some Bay Area HR professionals I have met over the years, including Lisa Hickey, SPHR, Jenny Vonderwerth, Maureen Middleton, SPHR, SHRM-SCP (she/her), as well as hosts Danika Davis and Naomi Fisher. Our current landscape and workforce require looking at succession in a new way. Lynn shared various strategies to give businesses a competitive advantage. Here are three takeaways that align with employee engagement and increasing inclusion: 1. Move away from 1:1 grooming and focus on the skills-based development of your whole workforce. 2. Don't limit opportunities to the traditional vertical ladder. 3.
