"Woodrow Wilson’s history provides us with three important guideposts. Foremost, leaders in the 21st century must be collaborators, mobilizing all who are impacted by current issues. Secondly, leaders must address issues considering the emotional needs of their affected citizens. Emotional reality must be a priority component of rational analysis. Efficiency of the solution will be a lower priority than addressing emotional fears and needs of citizens. Lastly, effective leaders will be educators of current and historical truth and guide their communities in identifying a common vision that will benefit future generations." https://lnkd.in/eFWTFDBp

🚀 Facilitator, coach and trainer ✨ Research and strategy consultancy for Statutory and Not for Profit sectors 🎯 Coaching and leadership development
💡 What a nice surprise this morning to find an old piece of work I did back in 2020 at the top of the Google search. I'm researching examples for some training I am delivering on influencing policy and practice in the UK, and I found this throw back to some work I did on how #trusts and #foundations in the UK can influence policy. I had completely forgotten about it! Given where we are in the policy cycle, I thought it might be interesting to share these throw backs to anyone looking ahead to the opportunities for influencing there may be later this year. The link to the full blog is linked below, and it also reminded me of two similar pieces I wrote on how think tanks create change, and what I learnt from seven years working in a think tank. ➡ How trusts and foundations in the UK approach influencing policy and practice: https://lnkd.in/eAScHe_5 ➡ How think tanks create change -https://lnkd.in/eRJaXTJu written as part of my Clore Social Leadership fellowship. ➡ What I learnt from seven years working in a think tank: https://lnkd.in/eHkVRFK7 #policy #influence #policymaking #change #GeneralElection #GE24
