Co-owner of the leading business that helps Business Owners change their lives by improving their business | I'm not everybody's cup of tea | I don't waste your time, and you don't waste mine
You invest in your future no matter what you do, and you will get the future you invest in, business and personal… I have gone public with my support for #risemzansi and was asked, “Why would I **trust** a party that knows nothing about politics?” Three parts to my answer – 1. Some Employees and Business Owners (E&BOs), “invest” their hard-earned money in pension funds, RA’s, etc., so that some day in the future those investments will be worth **enough** for them to live off till their last day. Most E&BOs **never** meet with a Financial Planner to get guidance on what will be enough, and therefor have little or no idea of what they will need in their future – they don’t know what that future **should** look like. They **trust blindly**. In the lifetime of these E&BOs, the people (pension funds, RA’s, etc.) that must take care of their **investments** will change, because they themselves retire or resign. And these E&BOs will continue to invest their future with strangers and no picture of what their **pension** will look like in the future. They trust **blindly**. Your investment growth is impacted directly by what politicians do... 2. My wife and I have a responsibility to ourselves, and our children and fellow SA’ns, to try our best to ensure that the two of us I can **take care of ourselves** in the future, the future that we want. This is impacted directly by what politicians do... 3. Do you believe that the current political parties, all those who appeared on the last ballot, know more about politics? We are where we are because those ballot names did almost nothing to prevent the current scenario. They fought with each other about positions, **their payslips**, whilst those in government walked away with the bone. I cannot get the future I want – money and lifestyle, on my own. I need political parties to understand that they work for you and me and our future. The previous names on the ballot did nothing to give me at least some confidence that they understand. As a Business Owner, I look for a Return on Investment (ROI) – on my money and my time. When I don’t get my required ROI, or I don’t see it in the future I want, I review and as necessary adjust and change. Never on a whim. My ROI is impacted by what politicians do. I must take a view based on experience, deliverables, and future possibilities. No emotions. No nostalgically holding on to the past. I am voting for the future I want. Do you know why you support the party you do? Is it nostalgy? Fear? Blind trust? Know your “why” for who you will vote for. #risemzansi #business #leadership #innovation #future #BusinessOwners #businessadvice #TABBoards

Thanks to The Observership Program for the invitation to last night's 2024 Victoria launch event. Shout out to those who contributed to and made the event such as success: Catherine Reiser, Cathy Robinson, Laura Stark and Belinda Da Silva. Congratulations to all new Observers this year, including Kirsty Ha, Tom Curtis, Josline Mutombo and Dan Johnson, among many others. Wonderful to see 25 new boards join the Victoria program, and it continues to gain momentum and grow each year! Guest speaker Ro Allen (FAICD), Ro Allen, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner, was simply brilliant. She shared her top 10 tips for new Observers to get the most out of the program. 1. Don’t be afraid to sit at the front and when asked for your opinion lean in. 2. Fake it to you make it and find a way to overcome imposter syndrome. 3. Under promise and over deliver. 4. If you are not at the table you can’t turn it over. 5. Get a good balance between vulnerability and authentic leadership. 6. Get outside of your own echo chamber, helps you to better articulate your ideas and learn what you don’t know. 7. Understand your own privilege and ensure you get equal voices and perspectives talking and engaged. 8. Keep yourself nice, it’s a small world and hard to shake a reputation. 9. Change takes patience, it is important to mark the wins as they take time. 10. Don’t do it alone. https://lnkd.in/fznXe9W #TheObservershipProgram #boardofdirectors #AICD
