Our events season keeps going strong! 🎯 A few weeks ago, our colleagues Elena Castellano Sanz, PhD (Research Partnerships) and James Miles (Product Manager) represented Hawk Biosystems at the 18th Annual European Histopathology Forum (EHF) in Stevenage, England. 🔬 The event, held at GSK's Stevenage Research Centre on 24-25 September 2024, brought together professionals from across the histopathology field to discuss the latest innovations and breakthroughs. We were proud to be part of these important conversations! 💡 On 24th September, James Miles presented an insightful talk titled "QF-Pro®: The Spatial Biology Platform Optimising Immuno-Oncology Outcomes." His session highlighted how our QF-Pro® technology is revolutionizing spatial biology, particularly in immuno-oncology. 📍 On 25th September, we also had a stand where Elena and James engaged with attendees, sharing our vision for the future of personalized medicine. Check out some photos from the event below! 👇

📢 Join Our Upcoming Webinar! 🚀 🔬 Titre : New Advances in Extracellular Vesicle miRNA Research Using High-Throughput Affinity Capture 🗓️ When: Wednesday, February 28th at 20:00 🔍 About: 🔍Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a diverse group of membrane-bound particles ranging from approximately 30nm up to a few micrometers in diameter. The development of accurate and reliable EV-based diagnostics necessitates the identification of disease-associated biomarkers within specific EV subpopulations and the implementation of rapid, reproducible and scalable sample processing. Conventional isolation methods face challenges due to the co-isolation of particles with similar physicochemical properties. Promising alternatives involve methods targeting specific vesicle-surface epitopes, compatible with automated platforms. Join our featured speaker, Dr. Greg Rice from INOVIQ, as he identifies challenges associated with translating our understanding of extracellular vesicle biology into clinically useful applications and to highlight potential solutions. 🎙️ Présenté par :Dr. Greg Rice, INOVIQ 👉 Inscrivez-vous maintenant afin de le visionner à la demande https://lnkd.in/g-8PMzze

The latest developments of #OATD02 from #Molecure's collaboration with Prof. Dr. Carsten Hopf and Dr. Yasemin Ucal from the Center for Mass Spectrometry and Optical Spectroscopy (CeMOS) at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences 👩🔬 With advanced MALDI-MSI technology provided by EU-OPENSCREEN, we visualized metabolic alterations induced by OATD-02, revealing increased arginine levels and decreased polyamine levels in tumors. The conclusion was that the metabolic activity of OATD-02 demonstrates significant changes in tissue distribution of important metabolic biomarkers confirming intracellular inhibition of ARG2 activity explaining anti-cancer effects 💊 The next phase of our collaborative journey entails disseminating the scientific findings, compiling, and publishing results in a peer-reviewed paper. Our aim is to contribute valuable insights to the broader scientific community and potentially impact future research and applications in the field 🤝 Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/dvP5f3KB

This year has presented me with many challenges, and solving them required a great deal of my time, energy, and even health. But now that I am looking back, I can say I am proud of the results that I have accomplished at Translational Omics Group (led by Prof. Janis Klovins, Ph.D.) together with my talented colleagues.👩🔬 Here are some of the results that I want to remember from 2023: 1️⃣ I was leading the development of participant application, sample, and document logistics system that led to the launch of the Latvian Genome Reference project (part of the European '1+ Million Genomes' Initiative). 🧬 2️⃣ We successfully finished the INTEGROMED project (funded by the Horizon2020 program) that I have been coordinating since 2019, and I had the great opportunity to visit the University of Dundee and Weizmann Institute of Science for knowledge exchange. 3️⃣ Together with Justīne Puriņa, we set up the first in vitro anaerobic cultivation system for gut microbiota extracted from the human stool at Latvian Biomedical Research & Study centre, and the first experiments have yielded promising results and opened doors for new collaborations. 🦠 4️⃣ I have gathered multi-omics (blood metabolomics, blood transcriptomic, and urine metabolomics) data of COVID-19 patients during the POST-COVID-TRACK project (funded by the European Regional Development Fund), and I am in the process of publishing the results. Another accomplishment to mention is the finished online course in pharmacology facilitated by HMX – Harvard Medical School that I took from September 5, 2023, to November 17, 2023. And even though the course was not easy, it was humbling to be reminded of the old truth once again - the more I learn, the more I realize, the less I know. Cheers to more challenges and solutions in 2024 🥂
