The prime minister said the NHS is gone wrong, I mean if you invest in the local services, They will offer better services, Like opening new clinics, The money literally gets spent on rents, Also the hospitals, And their clinics, They have some problems, Like staff chat in wards like they were in crowded buses, But all the hospitals, And I have had a look, Function well at what they are, They have a job to do, And they always always do it well, Saying the last government overspent, And there’s no money this year, I mean the last government, And Canary Wharf is in decline, I mean my local services need investment, I mean an service user needs stability, I mean the service goes up and down like a yoyo, I mean stability, that’s the point, Don’t fluctuate the NHS services.

Calling for a ceasefire of political fighting over hospital funding - now is a time for leadership. The Hampshire scheme has an indicative allocation of £700m - £900m from the national New Hospital Programme. The Trust and Integrated Care Board have been funded to develop detailed plans and consult with the public. The letter emphasises confidence in funding availability and encourages continued engagement in the consultation process. It outlines the standard process of submitting business cases to the Treasury for funding approval. Overall, it reaffirms the NHS commitment to the new hospital for Hampshire and urges partners and stakeholders to maintain confidence in the project. New backlog maintenance figures from NHS England show the effect of starving NHS of vital capital - NHS Confederation chief executive Matthew Taylor warns that the new NHS estates returns are cause for significant concern with the NHS crying out for essential capital investment. “These new figures are deeply worrying and demonstrate just how much the NHS is crying out for vital capital investment. As Lord Darzi pointed out, the health service has been starved of capital funding for more than a decade and the result is an NHS estate that is in desperate need of extensive repairs – particularly those trusts who have issues with reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (raac). “The cost to eradicate backlog maintenance has risen to £13.8 billion, more than the £13.6 billion total cost of running the entire NHS estate. NHS Confederation chief executive Matthew Taylor responds to the new research by the Liberal Democrats on NHS hospital buildings: “With no further capital funding announced in the spring budget above what was already announced in the autumn statement, we fear that the deterioration of the NHS estate will continue. For the NHS to make the productivity and efficiency improvements needed to tackle the waiting list backlogs and recover performance, as well as ensuring that buildings are kept safe for staff and patients, it needs the right investment. This includes longer funding settlements so leaders can plan for the future, and a step away from short term thinking.
