What's the best morning routine? Exercise and meditation help. But, for this writer, doing something escapist ranks ahead of them. "Doing something I genuinely like had the dual benefits of lifting my mood and expanding my perspective. It reminded me not only that is there a world outside my often-claustrophobic work life, but also that I am a whole person outside of my professional identity, with creative interests and forms of intelligence rarely required in my current role." #worklife #worklifebalance #balance #life #career #professionalidentity #intelligence https://lnkd.in/gErnDjer

For all of us, effective time management is vital! Parkinson’s Law says: work expands to fill the time allotted for its completion. In other words: however long you give a task, is how long it will take A good friend recently introduced me to ‘75 Hard’: a rigorous 75 day programme, with 6 daily challenges to be achieved every day. If you miss a day, you start again The goal: to improve your physical and mental wellbeing, and cultivate powerful habits So how does this fit with time management? Developing good habits can significantly improve time efficiency by automating routine tasks and creating a structured approach to your day. When tasks become habits, they require less mental effort, allowing you to perform them more quickly and consistently Building habits takes time, so here are some pointers: - Start Small: manageable tasks to build momentum 📈 - Anchor to Routine: attach the new behavior to an existing habit / routine 📆 - Consistency is key: aim for daily practice ☀️ - Set Achievable Targets: make goals realistic to build motivation 💪 - Track Progress: monitor and celebrate your achievements 📔 - Reward Yourself: positive reinforcement strengthens the habit 🎁 - Accountability: share your goals with a friend 👭 Look our for my next post: “40 Hard” begins… #goodhabits #motivation #buildinggreathabits #entrepreneurlife #selfemployedlife #ukproperty #milliondollarlisting #millionpoundlisting #eastlondonproperty #londonlife #londonproperty #75daychallenge

Fall is a busy time for most. Setting boundaries and creating a stop-do list can be beneficial to our health and well-being both at work and at home. Perhaps your stop-doing list will be bigger than your to-do list. #emotionalintelligence #selfawareness #selfregulation #authenticitymatters "When people feel able to bring their whole selves to work, it’s not only healthy for them as individuals, but also for the organizations they help to create. Since the Industrial Revolution, there has been an unspoken cultural expectation that employees should operate like machines. Steam engines, of course, never feel overlooked by the boss or resent having to work weekends, and neither should a “good” worker—or so the logic goes. But people are decidedly not machines, and expecting them to act like they are is a recipe for a number of ailments, such as: disengagement high turnover rates, low well-being, an increase in stress, and burnout. As humans, we are driven by our values, so when your daily tasks are disconnected from those values, it takes a toll."
