Chris Menzl | EdwardJones® Financial Advisor, Phase2Careers Advisory Board, had this to say about Ageism: "Over 40 professionals can bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to an organization. I know colleagues from former companies who have experienced layoffs which seemed to involve older employees disproportionately. Raising awareness of ageism can be a valuable tool to help with this challenge." Ageism Awareness Day is coming up on October 9th. It’s an opportunity to draw attention to the impact of ageism in our society and how we can reframe aging in our communities. We aim to raise awareness, foster understanding, and promote positive change where everyone is valued regardless of age. For 15 years, Phase2Careers has been at the forefront of combating ageism faced by workers over 40. We are committed to providing vital programs—many of which are offered at no cost. Your generous donation will help sustain and expand these initiatives that empowered seasoned professionals to thrive. Hear what Phase2Careers’ Board/Advisory Board members' perspective about Ageism and the Workplace. A short video on the impact of Ageism (Laura Leach, Ron Visconti, and Marilee Moy). I help CEOs and teams succeed wildly. Author of "AS I SEE IT, Business, Vol.1" Currently seeking roles in AI.
I'm bummed to see so many Executive Assistants getting cut from organizations. This has been brewing for years, and watching it in action sucks. However, I'm heartened to see EAs and other professionals publicly share the open positions in their organizations with the hopes of helping those displaced find their next role. This is going to get worse, peeps. I've been banging the drum about it for years. However, as with any challenge worth our efforts, "it takes a village," and we must all be proactive in helping one another out. This is one of the numerous unwritten codes in our top secret "EA Handbook." After decades of being treated as second-class (business) citizens, our insane resilience is built on circling our wagons and calling in ALL the favors. We've done it for almost a century. We'll continue doing it until the last of us succumbs to a bot. We are the strongest, most resourceful, most in-it-to-win-it professionals in business who CHOOSE to succeed in the face of consistent resistance and disrespect EVERY DAMN DAY. Keep sharing open roles. Keep sharing your stories. Keep tribe-ing up, offering a shoulder, and staying strong. And, most importantly, keep your head up, your sights set even higher, and KNOW that 90% of professionals in business can't hold a candle to your ability to make sh*t happen. #iykyk #isaidwhatisaid Stay strong. Stay hopeful. You got this.

Great opportunities in Raleigh
Our Raleigh Fox team is always looking to grow. In particular, can y'all help me spread the word about two open associate positions we have? One is for a mid-level corporate / health care regulatory associate. And we would love to bring on a mid-level non-profit organizations associate too. Links below.

I posted this link earlier but wanted to repost with a bit more explanation. Rebuild Local News is now hiring a Chief Operating Officer. It's a great and incredibly important job, not just for our organization but for the broader national movement to revitalize community news. We believe the collapse of local news is catastrophic -- affecting everything from polarization to corruption to pollution to tax rates. Basically, the health of communities and democracy. We also believe that out of the ashes, we can create a better, more inclusive local news system than has ever existed before. First, we need innovation in business and editorial models to better serve communities and become more sustainable. Second, we need more philanthropy. And third -- and here's where we come in -- we need smart, First-Amendment-friendly public policies. Getting this part right will be hard, and will require activity in all 50 states and at the federal level. It will require our group to grow in size and sophistication. It will require a great, mission-driven leader with tremendous nonprofit operational skills. We will have fun, and will make a difference. If that's you, please apply. If you know who that is, please tell them about it.

As a relatively new fundraising manager but a long time gift officer, I felt this in my bones. What are we actually measuring with all of these neverending metrics conversations? Often, things that mean next to nothing and take longer to compile than they are worth. When you look it what is connected to my professional success, it's hard to quantify. But I can tell you meaningful relationships are not measured in cold calls and hours worked. It is sitting with people, addressing their hopes and dreams for their philanthropy, and creating a shared vision of the future. Food for thought as I am hiring a new associate director and helping establish metrics for them. Article: Do I Have the Right Performance Measurements? from Veritas Group https://lnkd.in/gwefCXGJ

Self Help Coach | Energizing Paths for Power Professionals | Creator, RJ Power House Digital Creations | Ikigai & Longevity Expert
Don't Let Your Dreams Fade for a Paycheck As government employees, we signed up to serve our communities and make a real difference. We were drawn to public service by a deeper purpose - a calling to put our skills and passions to work for the greater good. But over time, it's all too easy to lose sight of what really drives us. The day-to-day grind, office politics, and the pressure to conform can slowly eat away at our values and aspirations. We start telling ourselves it's naïve to chase our dreams, that we should just put our heads down and collect our paychecks. I'm here to tell you - don't fall into that trap! Our world needs passionate public servants now more than ever. We need visionaries in government who dare to reimagine what's possible, who have the courage to challenge the status quo and fight for what they believe in. So reconnect with the fire that brought you here in the first place. Identify the change you want to create and start taking steps, however small, to make it real. Build alliances with colleagues who share your passion. Take on projects that energize and inspire you, even if they're outside your formal job description. Remember, true job security comes from continually growing, learning and providing unique value - not from playing it safe. When you lead with your values and talents, you become an irreplaceable asset to any organization. I know it's not easy to swim against the tide. Believe me, I've been there. But every single day, we have a choice. We can resign ourselves to being cogs in a bureaucratic machine, or we can blaze a trail with heart and purpose. Which path will you choose? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your perspective. And if you're ready to rekindle your professional passion, I'm here to support you however I can. Because our communities are counting on us to bring our full selves to this critical work. #PublicService #GovernmentJobs #CareerPassion #JobSatisfaction #PurposeDriven #MakeADifference #LeadWithValues #ChallengeTheStatusQuo #GovieLife #InnovateGov
