The Civil Service has now entered the pre-election period. This will last until the General Election concludes. During this time there will be restrictions on communications activity and our social media accounts will be quieter than usual.

Injuries and Deaths through bad working practices do not stop during an election, so neither should the reminders and information from your department.

If you really are independent of political ideology nothing should change

Unbelievable statement. HSE has gone downhill, good people, under resourced yes, but should not stop communicating

The pre-election period, or "purdah," is designed to ensure the impartiality of the Civil Service. However, this should not impede the delivery of essential services. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) plays a critical role in preventing workplace accidents and deaths. Limiting its communication channels during this period could have serious consequences for public safety. Workers and employers rely on timely updates and guidance from HSE to maintain safe working environments. Curtailing the flow of this information could lead to an increase in preventable accidents and fatalities. The need for safety and health information does not pause during the pre-election period. The communications from HSE are typically informational and technical, focused on health and safety regulations, accident prevention, and emergency response. These do not carry political weight and thus should not be subjected to the same restrictions as other forms of government communications that might influence electoral outcomes.

How could a political decision like a general election, possible effect the HSE in any form, just surprising and worrying.

Stephen Forster

Do not put off tomorrow what you can do today.

Those that can do, those that can't become civil servants.
