Excited with the recognition of Indonesia digital health work. The Digital Maturity Index (DMI) guides Indonesia’s digital transformation, with a focus on the processes, people, and systems that are essential for stronger health systems. Indonesia MOH, with the support of USAID CHISU, decided to adapt the HIS Stages of Continuous Improvement (SOCI) tool to the Indonesian context to create the DMI. The HIS SOCI-informed DMI allows for concrete monitoring of Indonesia’s HIS progression, allowing a wide range of stakeholders to take evidence-based action to achieve measurable progress toward a common HIS vision. So What? Due to these efforts, there was a marked increase in all HIS domains between 2022 and 2023—clearly demonstrating a positive progression toward health system digital transformation. There was a 51 percent reduction in tuberculosis data entry, from nine minutes to four for each patient encounter. Indonesia’s MOH believes this increased time with patients will translate into more data-informed decisions, which will in turn lead to improved patient care and health outcomes.

Thanks for the invitation to Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) and International SOS to discuss Public-Private Action in Global Health at the margins of the World Health Summit 2023 in Berlin. Public-private action is a cornerstone of Bayer´s vision “health for all, hunger for none”. By 2030, we aim to expand access to self-care for 100 million people in economically or medically underserved communities. Public partners are key to achieving this goal. Here are two examples: we are engaging with the Government of Indonesia to improve nutrition overall and support the training of community health workers with our partner reach52. And our awarded partnership with the Ministry of Health & Population of Egypt is tackling the country´s cardiovascular health crisis by providing educational training to healthcare professionals and consumers. I am pleased to share IQVIA’s summary report from our 2023 Africa Health Summit (and my first official publication for the company). With the central theme of innovation in healthcare, this event took place in Kigali this past October and gathered a number of important stakeholders in the continent—government officials, representatives of international and regional organizations and global health agencies, pharma and other private sector executives, patient advocacy leaders, and researchers. This report provides a summary of the conversations we held in Rwanda, including great insights stemming from the meeting’s two thematic tracks: public health and research and development. Overall, speakers and panellists underscored the value of innovation and partnerships to move the needle in healthcare across Africa, and highlighted the importance of having local decision-makers, entrepreneurs and researchers driving institutional, regulatory and scientific transformations forward in the continent and beyond. The list of topics we covered is vast, so check out the report and please share your comments! https://lnkd.in/e4gAruER #IQVIA #WeAreIQVIA #IQVIAPublicHealth #innovation #globalhealth #healthcare #healthequity

Exciting Update from Côte d’Ivoire National One Health Platform! 🌍 On June 12th 2024, the Prime Minister (https://lnkd.in/de4xTy2U) led the inaugural meeting of the watch committee for the Côte d’Ivoire National One Health Platform. This significant milestone marks a promising step towards future transformative and impactful One Health interventions. What a journey! Established through a Presidential Executive order on April 3rd, 2019, and officially launched on February 17th, 2021, the National One Health platform in Côte d’Ivoire is a testament to collaborative efforts and strategic vision. The One Health institutionalization process was supported by the #USAID P&R project implemented by #DAI. Key Takeaway: The success of One Health institutionalization initiatives hinges on a deep understanding of political, institutional and governance dynamics, effective alignment with national priorities, and the recognition by end users of potential positive impacts in the short, mid, and long term. Time for end users to grasp the relevance of these efforts is crucial for long-term sustainability. #OneHealth #CôtedIvoire #USAID

Uganda's 3rd annual #HealthSupplyChainWeekUG kicks off today, featuring media events, learning conferences, and more that bring together policymakers, healthcare professionals, civil society groups, implementing partners, and other stakeholders. The 7-day celebration is designed to commemorate and advance progress toward achieving #Uganda’s ambitious 10-year National Health Supply Chain Roadmap for building a modern, nationally driven #healthsupplychain. As the week begins, we highlight three areas of achievement: 1️⃣ Digitalization: With support from the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology and National Guidance, Uganda connected 84 health facilities to the national internet backbone as part of its commitment to connect 600 facilities over the next 5 years. 2️⃣ Resource Allocation: To ensure funding for roadmap priorities, Uganda allocated $130 million in Fiscal Year 2023-24 for essential medicines and health supplies – a 15% increase compared to FY 2022-23. 3️⃣ Human Resources: Since 2022, the USAID Uganda Strengthening Supply Chain Systems Activity, led by MSH and partners, has trained over 600 leaders from 33 districts, cities, municipalities, and 17 hospitals in supply chain leadership, management, and governance. https://lnkd.in/eStg-y7D
