In recent years, WHO/Europe has deepened and extended its collaboration with Member States, further boosted by the Country Strategy endorsed 2 years ago. Four countries showcased examples of this collaboration and the positive #healthimpact it has made at a side event organized yesterday in the run-up to WHO/Europe’s annual governance meeting, RC74. Romania is advancing in key health areas as part of its National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), guided by the 7-year Country Cooperation Strategy signed with WHO in 2024. Kyrgyzstan is actively engaged in the subregional strategy—the Roadmap for Health and Wellbeing in Central Asia—and hosted the Central Asia International Health Investment Forum, maintaining focus and momentum on health and economic priorities. Malta is launching an NCD Prevention Policy Framework using the insights gained from a WHO Country Support Team. Germany is advancing public health reforms and establishing a prevention institute with support from a WHO Country Counterpart. East African Community Digital Health and Interoperability Assessments This report details the results of the Kenya assessment, which had two objectives: 1️⃣ Assess the status of digital health and HIS interoperability in Kenya by assessing the processes, structures, and capacities needed to support the enabling environment for digital health and interoperability. This objective included beginning to develop a registry of digital health solutions being implemented in Kenya. 2️⃣ Using the Kenyan assessment results, contribute to the regional landscape assessment of digital health and interoperability in the EAC to inform regional analysis and recommendations for moving them forward. ♻️ Repost this to help others in your network. Excited with the recognition of Indonesia digital health work. The Digital Maturity Index (DMI) guides Indonesia’s digital transformation, with a focus on the processes, people, and systems that are essential for stronger health systems. Indonesia MOH, with the support of USAID CHISU, decided to adapt the HIS Stages of Continuous Improvement (SOCI) tool to the Indonesian context to create the DMI. The HIS SOCI-informed DMI allows for concrete monitoring of Indonesia’s HIS progression, allowing a wide range of stakeholders to take evidence-based action to achieve measurable progress toward a common HIS vision. So What? Due to these efforts, there was a marked increase in all HIS domains between 2022 and 2023—clearly demonstrating a positive progression toward health system digital transformation. There was a 51 percent reduction in tuberculosis data entry, from nine minutes to four for each patient encounter. Indonesia’s MOH believes this increased time with patients will translate into more data-informed decisions, which will in turn lead to improved patient care and health outcomes.
