Health is a fundamental human right. We need strong and resilient health systems to secure good health and well-being for all. So, what makes a good health system? 🏥 In this animation by Tristan Bayly, our colleagues from the Health Systems Strengthening team explain that the ‘nuts and bolts’ of health systems may be the same across countries, but they differ in how they deliver value to societies. Our Health Systems Strengthening experts – Noor Tromp, Mahdi Abdelwahab, Ingrid Zuleta Marin, Irina Wagner-Stirbu, Heloise Widdig, Nwanneka Okere, Eelco Jacobs, Olivier Onvlee, Myrte Wassenaar, Marjolein Dieleman, Pierre Pratley, DrPH, and Harry Coleman – don’t just copy and paste solutions to improve the cohesion and performance of health systems around the world; they use collaborative research methods to voice the concerns of individuals and communities at the heart of health systems strengthening. Bridging the Gap: Scholars & Practitioners in reallife business engagement ! The #researcher are of the view that #scholars are #predominantly driven by a keen #awareness of their #weakness in #real-world #exposure. The same is true in case of #Business #Practioners who long for gaining #academic evidence based #knowledge to keep their non-performance at Bay for the want of #ongoingresearch findings in #realworld. Sultana Al Sabahi has given the opportunity in platter 😆 to the professionals striving for filling the gap between theory and practice. Faculty-practitioner exchange is one such attempt (He et al 2023). Quite a number of business professionals have identified and stressed the "research needs, timelines, and priority gaps" ( McCartney et al 2023) between the industry and academia, however it is well-documented that limited actions are taken by either side to bridge the prevailing disparity. The #concerned have #demonstrated a need of "academic research relevance to industry, and secondly to survey attendees on how to create greater #academic and #industry research #collaboration"(ibid). The #exploratory #study findings thus confirm: 🕳️a lack of research cooperation 🕳️contrasting research agendas 🕳️wanting a timely research 🕳️confidential, easy-to-read, and practical.
