👀 📰 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 - 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐮𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?
My enthusiastic accomplices for this lecture series Isabelle Schiffer, Ph.D, Christin Menke, and I work as Innovation Scouts and Start-Up Coaches at three different universities in Germany (Köln, Münster, Bochum). 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.
One of the major hurdles is the 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 "𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡" - publications are the currency in the academic world. While we appreciate reading about groundbreaking discoveries in scientific journals, we also recognize 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
To address this, we have organized an 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 that aims to provide insights and inspiration in a concise and easily digestible format. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🎉
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚. It is designed for individuals interested in gaining insights to catalyze their journeys, connecting with like-minded people, and sharing their passion for transforming research into action.
💪 We will begin with three bi-weekly sessions and are 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬. Thank you so much for agreeing to share your wisdom and motivation with us in the upcoming weeks, Anne Vortkamp, Martin Bellof, and Cornelia Bähr 🎇
We will introduce each speaker in a post before their session, so stay tuned!
