Our team members Dr. Ashutosh Mishra and Aishwarya Panicker presented Vitamin Angels’ findings from the landscape analysis on micronutrient deficiencies among pregnant and lactating women in India at a webinar organized by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi on Dec 13. #Micronutrients play vital role in growth, development, and maintenance of optimal health, especially during #pregnancy. Micronutrient deficiencies during this period are even more drastic as it affects both maternal and fetal outcomes. The #webinar — with the theme ‘Current evidence on Maternal Multiple Micronutrient Deficiencies (MMD) and Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) in #India’ – provided an overview of MMD and MMS scientific evidence and policy landscape, where participants presented global evidence, India specific maternal micronutrient deficiency status, and showcased different approaches and strategies to address maternal MMD, and their implementation and research findings. Are allergies and autoimmune diseases taking a toll on your health? It's time to pay attention to your omega-6/omega-3 ratio. Research suggests that maintaining a balanced ratio of these essential fatty acids is crucial for combating these conditions. Firstly, marine omega-3s have shown promising results in reducing inflammation, making them an effective strategy for managing such health issues. Additionally, ensuring sufficient omega-3 intake during pregnancy can lower the risk of allergic diseases in your offspring. Furthermore, reducing the omega-6/omega-3 ratio can lead to a decrease in allergic conditions in future generations. Lastly, studies have found a direct correlation between an increase in the omega-6/omega-3 ratio and the rise in allergic and autoimmune diseases. Take charge of your health and prioritize a balanced omega-6/omega-3 ratio today. #HealthTips #OmegaBalance #Wellness #Diabetes #Weighosstransformation #Insulin

🗞️ This is the article from where we may know about the linkage between Maternal caregivers experiences of IPV and child nutrition outcomes. It shows that maternal caregivers’ experience of IPV is significantly associated with low birthweight and suboptimal breastfeeding practices, whereas studies showed inconsistent associations with child growth indicators or blood nutrient levels. Programmatic implications include incorporation of GBV considerations into nutrition policies and programming and integrating GBV prevention and response into mother and child health and nutrition interventions in LMIC contexts. #endGBV #prevetion #violenceagainstwomen #womenempowerment 🔗https://lnkd.in/gYz8jRtx

Let's prioritize maternal and child health during #March4Nutrition. Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (#MMS) has the potential to save countless lives. MMS is a daily dose of 15 essential vitamins and minerals, including iron and folic acid. Despite two decades of research backing up its efficacy, the majority of pregnant women in low- and middle-income countries lack access to MMS. We need a unified global effort to make MMS an accessible and impactful intervention for maternal and child health worldwide. Explore the significance of MMS and learn how it supports both mothers and babies, providing essential nutrients for optimal health: https://bit.ly/3P8ESXD

🟢 IMMUNITY ACROSS THE LIFESPAN || Part 1 As humans age, the immune system evolves from the immature and developing immune responses in infants and children, through to immune function that is potentially optimal in adolescents and young adults, followed by a gradual decline in immunity in older adults. Nutrition plays a key role in supporting healthy immune system function across the lifespan, with micronutrient deficiencies compromising immune function and increasing the risk of infections. In this 3-part series, we will explore the changing demands on the immune system across the lifespan, starting at the very beginning: 1️⃣ Fertility: Both maternal and paternal preconception health conditions influence the health of a future pregnancy and baby. Adequate nutrition is crucial for healthy immune system function, which is in turn crucial for healthy fertility. 2️⃣ Pregnancy: There is an increased vulnerability to infections during pregnancy, as the immune system undertakes complex adaptations in order to protect both maternal and foetal health. Alarmingly, the majority of pregnant women in Australia do not meet their daily nutrient needs. Key nutrients that have a vital role in sustaining immune competency, decreasing risk of infection, and supporting foetal and neonatal immune system development include vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, iron, selenium, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids. 👉 To find out more about how to support both maternal and foetal immune systems during pregnancy, read this article: https://brnw.ch/21wKn9d #Fertility #Pregnancy #Immune #ImmuneSystem #ImmuneHealth #Nutrition #NaturalHealth #ComplementaryMedicine #LifeSpanNutrition

Its no big secret how obesity has tripled in 60 years. How did we get here: poor diet with lots ultra processed foods, fast food eating, and sedentary lifestyles. Ultra processed foods make up about half of all the calories consumed. The Food Industry has created lots of high sugar, high salt, junk food with enticing ads. Today Big Pharma, CDC, FDA, American Academy of Pediatrics, etc. are pushing high cost, high long term side effects obesity injectable drugs to help people even children & teens lose weight. But Big Pharma only researched the drugs for 68 weeks...so now the long term side effects are happening but...once these patients off the drugs 65% of the weight is gained back. #kidshealth #obesity #obesitytreatment https://lnkd.in/eGBdbv5x
