Well, look at this fine-looking group of nerds... LOL! We're not only appraisers but we're also the team that makes up the local AIC Nanaimo Chapter Committee. Here we are preparing for our AGM while hanging out at the Fanny Bay Inn and no, we DO NOT have any fun doing this stuff together. 😁 #AICBC #realestateappraisal #propertyvaluation #appraisersknowvalue

Arbitrum's (Re)delegation Week: Enhancing DAO Participation and Transparency via Arbitrum (Re)delegation Week by Arbitrum is set for July 17-23, 2024, aiming to boost active and decentralized delegation within ArbitrumDAO. Key activities include a governance call on July 15 to discuss becoming a delegate and multiple AMAs for delegates to present their values. Delegates must complete their profiles on Tally and share participation details by July 16. As of July 1, only ~10% of $ARB is delegated, with ~35% of token holders being delegators and ~6% actively voting. Community reactions are positive, highlighting the need for more active delegates and valuing the transparency and engagement opportunities provided by the governance call and AMAs. Notable participants like @Larva, @Djinn, @JoJo, @Curia, and @jameskbh have shared their contributions and plans, emphasizing their commitment to improving the DAO. Arbitrum reminds delegates to use the Delegate Statement Template on Tally for clarity on their views.

The Bell-shaped Curve is commonly called the normal curve and is mathematically referred to as the Gaussian probability distribution. Unlike Bernoulli trials which are based on discrete counts, the normal distribution is used to determine the probability of a continuous random variable. https://lnkd.in/g2r6AJrj

Dear Network, Last year, the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Assembly and Association released general principles related to CSOs’ right to access resources, which is a highly compelling document. Of particular note is the mention of CtGA (Change the Game Academy) as one of the exemplary practices regarding support for local civil society. This recognition underscores the significance of CtGA's contributions in this domain. Through this link you can check the document; https://lnkd.in/eYjkNnU6. #changemakers #changethegame

My co-author, Daniel Frolich E.I., and I were honored to contribute to the presentation for the 2024 Transportation Research Board's Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. Our lecture, titled "Exploring the Nexus Between Urban Planning and Boredom: A Framework for Designing Stimulating and Socially Connected Communities," delves into the research we conducted. This research establishes the connections between urban layouts and psychological boredom. https://lnkd.in/esb6GTBs

How does the Prince Claus Fund come to know about its impact and the people it supports? In this article by our coordinator of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, Laura Alexander, and the independent consultant Myriam Vandenbroucke, we look at the knowledge-making work involved in funding arts and culture around the world. Taking the joint research initiative Forces of Art as our starting point, we consider Monitoring and Evaluation practices through Haraway’s lens of situated knowledge. Understanding that what an organisation can know is shaped by the position it looks from, helps us avoid an objectifying gaze that judges practice from arbitrarily imposed institutional standpoints.
