July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month 🧠💙 We believe in equal access to mental health support and resources. This month, we're joining the movement to raise awareness about the unique mental health challenges faced by minority communities. Addressing these challenges through culturally sensitive and inclusive mental health services, community support, advocacy, and policy changes is essential to promote equity and access to mental healthcare for all individuals, regardless of their background.

It's Mental Health Action Day! We can't just talk about mental health-- we need to *do* something about it. You could: 🟢Get involved in policy advocacy (you should!), 🟢Start a program, 🟢Volunteer, 🟢Share your story, etc. Part of why Mental Health Action Day resonates with me is what feels like a call to move beyond platitudes. "People are there to support" or "You matter" -- sometimes you cannot find someone to support you or access help or feel connected. While we push for structural change, educate the public, and reimagine a better world, we can each take direct action to make the shareable quotes real for the people around us. If you care about someone, believe in someone, admire someone, or have been deeply impacted by someone, today you can take action to tell them. In addition reposting content, sharing your story, or highlighting ways to get involved, you can be the reason someone actually *knows* they matter.

We're joining up with youth (age 13-24) to create solutions to help Jack.org reach more young people, build and empower a community to prevent mental distress, and promote young people's wellbeing. A strong focus will be placed on exploring how to meet the needs of youth who have been systemically excluded from the mental health space, including Black and Indigenous youth. You can take part in any of the three different phases: 💬 Empathize phase, where you'll provide insights on your experiences 📢 Ideate Phase, where you'll brainstorm ideas and solutions to support young people 🎯 Test Phase, where you'll put ideas into action & provide feedback on how they work You'll learn and practice co-design & mental health advocacy skills, and receive an honorarium for taking part 💙 Plus, you'll help us build a better and more supportive space for other young people.
