🙌ENSNARE has been featured in the winter edition of the European Energy Innovation magazine! Tatiana Loureiro, from our partner R2M Spain , is the author of the article "Prefabricated modular façade to achieve NZEB: the ENSNARE solution”. She explains how the ENSNARE project, funded under Horizon 2020🇪🇺, aims to advance the renovation of residential buildings toward Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB). To achieve this, the project is developing highly industrialized modular facades as a key solution. These facades integrate energy harvesting, and distribution technologies. 🏢⚡ The performance and applicability of the modular facade is being tested in three pilot buildings located in Bulgaria, Estonia and Italy. The modular approach demonstrates flexibility in accommodating different building characteristics and limitations, showcasing adaptable solutions. 📰 Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/dGWXTCMZ 🤗Follow us as we keep working towards the transition to NZEB standards! #EuropeanEnergyInnovation #NZEB #ModularFacade #Sustainability #BuildingRenovation

Solarimo Constructs 808 kW Photovoltaic Systems in Berlin’s Havelufer Quartier Solarimo, a subsidiary of the French energy group Engie, is installing photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 808 kilowatts in the Spandau district of Berlin. These systems, part of a project developed by Patrizia and Kauri CAB Berlin, will integrate existing installations and prominently feature on listed buildings. The development, named “Havelufer Quartier,” spans 95,000 square meters and will include 1,700 apartments, both newly constructed and renovated. The project aims to create a “campus-like mix of living, housing, and working with regional appeal,” with a focus on rental properties rather than ownership. Despite its appeal to affluent tenants, the […] Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/d2kSg__A #solarenergy #alternativeenergy #solarpv #pvsolar #photovoltaic #cleanenergy #cleantech #climatechange #middleeast #africa #india #asiapacific #asia #engie #europe #france #photovoltaicsystem #solarimo #sustainable

Construction starts on first large-scale solar park in Swiss Alps ◾ Amid concerns over the climate crisis and energy supplies, two years ago the Swiss parliament approvedExternal link legislation to simplify and speed up the construction of large solar parks in high-mountain areas. ◾ The federal law lowers the hurdles for construction – including strict environmental regulations – and offers generous subsidies (60% of project costs). But operators must be start feeding electricity into the grid from the end of 2025 in order to secure the vital state funding. ◾ Following the legal change, around 50 large-scale projects have been presented so far. But a third have reportedly been abandoned, often due to local opposition, delays or for financial reasons. Only four projects have received planning permission to date. Of these, work has started on one: at the mountain village of Sedrun in canton Graubünden. ◾ In mid-August a small inauguration ceremony was held on the mountain above Sedrun that will host the farm of 5,700 solar panels. ◾ The first new panels for the park will be installed from October. When completed, the 300,000m2 facility is expected to have a capacity of 19.3 megawatts – almost ten times the amount produced by the largest existing solar plant in the Swiss Alps, on the Muttsee dam. The Sedrun facility should cover the needs of 6,500 local homes. ◾ Alpine solar installations offer the advantage of generating large amounts of electricity during the colder months when many lowland solar panels are shrouded in fog. Around half of the electricity generated by the new CHF85 million ($100 million) facility will be in winter when demand is high. ◾ The solar park is being built together with the local energy operator, Energia Alpina, and the renewable energy firm Aventron. It was approved by the local community in a vote. ◾ Another key factor behind its successful planning and launch is the fact that the solar panels will be hardly visible, even from the nearby slopes. The project had the full backing of the local environmental organisations from its conception. The source: Swiss Info #energyticslimited #renewableenergy #solarenergy #largescalesolarpark

🏙 ❔ What are your city’s biggest bottlenecks when it comes to the energy transition and reaching climate neutrality? Some of the new #PilotCities are testing innovative approaches to address theirs ⬇️ City of Aarhus’s project, ‘CO-SHAPE – CO-SHaping Areas in Peri-urban Environments’, aims to pioneer new strategies for increased local renewable energy and efficient land use. Rolf Johnsen, Head of the Department for Climate and Energy, City of Aarhus and Kasper Albrektsen from the Aarhus School of Architecture said “The CO-SHAPE project recognises the significance of involving citizens, businesses, and NGOs early in the process to achieve CO2 ambitions and targets. Against this backdrop, the city of Aarhus and Aarhus School of Architecture have forged a partnership to experiment with co-creation methods in comprehensive planning for peri-urban areas, within the framework of renewable energy plants. The consortium endeavours to demonstrate scalable methods that enhance the quality and liveability of local areas but also contribute significantly to addressing the climate challenge. Ultimately, the vision is to create a just and sustainable future.” #Eilat will develop their project ‘TourZero – Accelerated Decarbonisation in the Tourism Industry via the Nexus of Green Innovation, Cross-Sectoral Governance and Systemic Capacity Building’, to implement systemic solutions that accelerate the decarbonisation of Eilat's tourism industry. The project encompasses energy efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable mobility, and engaging local stakeholders. Oslo kommune's energy grid is near capacity, requiring substantial investment for the upcoming energy transition. Their 'PURE' Pilot City project aims to electrify construction, transportation, and machinery systematically, examining how energy demand, supply, and the grid must adapt for full sector electrification. Marit Kristine Vea, Vice Mayor for Environment and Transport, City of Oslo said “In our project, we will look at how to balance energy demand, supply and the grid capacity when construction, transportation and machinery are electrified. This is key for our work in designing an optimised and resilient energy system, ready to power an electrified city. In the project we collaborate with SINTEF, Hafslund and Bellona. Oslo looks forward to dialogue and collaboration with other forward - thinking cities across Europe.” Københavns Kommune’s 'FLEX4U' Pilot City project targets barriers to public and private investment in energy transition, focusing on renovating buildings and adopting new technologies. It offers insights for future budgeting and strategic planning to meet Copenhagen's climate goals. Does your city share any of these challenges? You can find out more about these and other Pilot Cities in Cohort 2: ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dVHGC2Qg #MissionCities #EUMissions #HorizonEU
