Oh, Media Technician, in your hands lie the keys, To the realm of sound and sight, you navigate with ease. Wireless lavalier and handheld mics, your trusted tools, You capture voices, soft and loud, breaking all the rules. Through amplification, whispers turn into roars, You give strength to the timid, opening new doors. Speakers echo with the power of your craft, In the symphony of sound, you are the draught. Cameras, your eyes, capturing life's dance, You frame our world, giving each moment a chance. Livestreaming equipment, your conduit to the world, Through your lens, countless stories are unfurled. Projection, your canvas, where visions take flight, You paint with light, turning darkness into bright. Your work, unseen, yet felt by all, In the theater of life, you stand tall. Oh, Media Technician, in your realm of wires and dials, You bridge distances, connecting us across miles. In your hands, technology becomes an art, Reaching people, changing lives, you play your part. dedicated by All technician

32yrs industrial boiler & HVAC experience. Industrial Journeymen Mechanic & Millwright. Welding experience. Proficient in controls upgrades & combustion of all fuels.
What is the difference from a average technician and a professional “A”level technician? 1) Attention to detail and looking at the whole package vs just concentrating on the scope of the job. 2) Ability to complete all phases of a job from the bid to the completion and commissioning of the equipment. 3) Ability to work independently and efficiently & safely. 4) Adapt & change as the job may take an unexpected turn or change. 5) know the applicable codes and permits that are required and enforced. 6) Train the customer on the upgrade or new equipment. 7) Leave the job cleaner than you found it. 8) Have pride in your workmanship & appearance.

2 weekends ago the Air Conditioning technician who visited home told me - "the previous job has been totally shoddy, the earlier guy has obviously cheated you. Anyway, the repairs are x,y,z and it's going to cost you 10k". I told him, "I'll get back." I never did. This weekend I got another technician to visit for the same issue. His version - "these issues are quite standard, and it's easy for someone inexperienced to miss on it. Don't worry I will fix this asap. But it will cost about 12k." I said "OK". He did the job, I paid him without negotiations. Basically, I paid a 20% premium for not feeling like a fool. Sometimes the recipe for success is quite simple. Don't make your boss/ client/ customer feel like a fool (even inadvertently 😉).

Technician Retention is a game not many organizations seems to want to play. Think of the costs that are associated with hiring a new technician: - Recruiting - Sign on Bonus - Waiting for them to start - Downtime from not having them on the team - Training - Ramp Time - Upskilling - The impact on others who take on the workload of a lost technician. - Should I keep going? Technicians don't leave jobs. They leave hectic environments. Techs nowadays expect things...Things like Stability. Schedules. Technology. Are you doing everything in your power to create the best maintenance team you can? If you're the type of person that looks for new ways to improve, message me to see there's any opportunities you can capitalize on for your maintenance team. #maintenancemanagement #facilitymanagement
