Our team is delighted to see the passage of the ADVANCE Act this week. In this landmark legislation, fusion is officially recognized as distinct from nuclear fission, establishing separate regulatory frameworks for each. These provisions are crucial for the deployment and growth of fusion technology, both now and in the future. This is a significant step forward for our industry and the advancement of zero-carbon energy solutions. https://lnkd.in/e5YfxCyq

This is exciting news for fusion. By placing fusion under the umbrella of colliders, it frees up the cumbersome regulatory process that normally provides needed protections for fission. Congratulations to everyone at Helion who worked tirelessly to lobby the DOE to get this done.

And to be clear, this was not an easy task, changing the dogma of the NRC to consider altering long standing regulations from the AEA 42USC, furthering progress towards safer clean energy standards. So again, thank you to all of those at Helion who worked tirelessly to help pave the way so that humankind can benefit from these guidelines.
