How To Write an Auto-Reply Email (with examples): How often is the first response your customers get from support an old, unloved automated response that was probably last edited when Charlie‘s finger was still recovering from a bite? Mercer Smith has collected 6 examples of effective auto-reply emails from verbose to simple, from companies like Zapier, Appcues, and Goldbelly. Some key lessons: - Inform them that you've received their email and are looking into it. - Let them know the hours during which your team works. - Help them understand how long they can expect to wait. - Provide other ways of contacting you, if you have them (chat, phone, carrier pigeon). - Personalize the content with information that you are likely to have about the customer, and provide fallbacks that make sense and sound natural. - Assist them in troubleshooting their issues on their own if they'd like to by sending links to documentation and other resources. - Give tips about additional information they can send along that may make it easier to solve their inquiry. Once it learns your preferences (in no more than a few days!), it will automatically move emails into your designated folders. End result=focused in-box! All the garbage, unimportant, read later emails are magically moved. https://buff.ly/3SnqN9F

This week a customer asked us: It is processing only the latest 7 days emails, how to process older emails? By default, when you add an account in Automatic Email Manager, it is set to get the new emails from the last 7 days, to avoid processing hundreds of old emails. You can change this by editing the account, move to the step 3, click on 'More options', now at right choose the number of days. Read more here > https://lnkd.in/gC2Y86er

Happy Email Day, friends! 💌 This handsome fella below is Ray Tomlinson, an American computer scientist who's credited for inventing email by rolling out the earliest successful email program in 1971. Today would have been his birthday. Email verification and validation tool ZeroBounce started the initiative of Email Day in 2022. They say: "As true email junkies, we feel that email deserves a special day. Although it connects billions of us around the world, email has never had a proper holiday – until now. On April 23, we’d like to invite the world to think of email and all the tremendous possibilities it has created for us through the past five decades." We say Hear! Hear! #EmailMarketing #NationalEmailDay #Email

ACTUAL FOOTAGE FROM MY PHONE A while back I asked the inimitable Mark Ritson what piece of advice he would share on a guest #pinkpostit… The Answer? “Your customer doesn’t give a f@ck about you”. So when recently a subscription provider changed their services and expected me to know because of an email they sent me… … well I just pointed to that inbox number. My dear automated freind - I no longer frequent the inbox from which I signed up to your service because it is filled with junk mail from other service providers such as yourself whom I appreciate but don’t have the time or interest to engage with… ..Don’t take it personally it’s just that there are 49,000 auto generated messages from bots like you to read… …so I’ve just decided not to. So my dear subscription service e-buddies… if you have an important change to make that may potentially make me wish to quit your service then may I politely suggest you find another way to tell me than email. Or better yet don’t change the service without permission! Because as the wise Ritson says: “I don’t give a f@ck about you” (until you annoy me so much that I leave you.) Thus endeth this public service announcement/rant 🙏 #subscriptions #customerservice #communication #emailmarketing #rant Ps: Am I the only one with an email account for non humans and junk mail that never gets visited?

This week a customer asked us: It is processing only the unread emails, how to change this? By default Automatic Email Manager sets account to get the unread emails, that's mean it process only new emails which are not yet read, but you can change this: edit the account, move to the step 3, click on 'More options', now at right choose if you want to get ALL messages or only the unread ones. People on LI are so slammed with so many automated DMs on here, that real, authentic ones are viewed with side-eye. Story time: I recently identified a series of accounts I feel I can help, and pulled up a list of 1st degree connections employed at them. Many of these people are individual contributors and I wanted: 1) Their take on if a couple of problems I'm solving for are real for their org 2) Warm intros to colleagues who care about solving those problems I'd only DM people who I've had real dialogue in the past and hit them with humor that roasts the pains I solved, followed by "how are you?". One dude replies: "This MUST be automation. Otherwise, you would have said 'How are you?' first." I assured him I do NOT use any kind of LI automation, and that the humor I'm using is just me "drinking my own dogfood (or whatever that expression is)". But he didn't care. He went on a rant...and then blocked me - all because he didn't like *when* I asked him how he was doing. I said nothing wrong, offensive, or harassing. Or he blocked me out of frustration with all the garbage outreach people automate. I'd get his POV if we had NEVER had a dialogue of any kind...but we had DMed in the past. Same way inboxes are flooded with spammy emails - is this the case with people's LI inboxes? Curious....how many automated messages would you say you get per day?

🎶 Don't go chasin' waterfalls... Please stick to the email verification that you're used tooooo... 🎶 But seriously, if you're using Clay's waterfall validation for email addresses, you're probably spending more money that you should for fewer useful emails. Why? Because when you use Find Work Email via Findymail, we verify all those addresses as part of the finding process. And we've got really good coverage. And really, really good verification. So, what happens when you feed those emails into a secondary validation tool in a waterfall? You end up losing between 20% and 30% of your list. That's a LOT of emails. Emails that are actually perfectly good. Other tools just can't verify them. The lesson? If you're using Clay, Find Work Email with Findymail is your best bet for the most verified email addresses at the lowest cost. #clay #salesautomation #coldoutreach
