Community-based organizations (CBOs) are often the best option for providing critical services to diverse communities in California, yet they frequently encounter obstacles to securing state contracts or grants that could support their mission. We’re excited to share ChangeLab Solutions’ new issue brief Unlocking California State Funding for Community-Based Organizations to Advance Health Equity, which highlights situations that many CBOs face when competing for state funds. It provides recommendations on how government entities can improve their contracting and grantmaking processes to make it easier for CBOs to advance heath equity. The Position Paper outlines the top priorities for both HRCI & our members, aimed at enhancing health research in Ireland. We are asking elected representatives, policy makers and everyone with influence in the health research space to prioritise them, as they plan for the year ahead. For many organisations working in Adult Social Care, the new tranche of workforce funding in the form of MSIF couldn’t have come at a better time! As a society, we don't ask nearly enough of the Government and the wider system when it comes to health research. We should ask our hospitals how much research they do (strongly linked to patient outcomes). We should ask our healthcare providers what evidence there is for different treatment options.
