A SHARED FENCE, A SHARED HUMANITY In the heart of Jos, where cultures and beliefs intersect, a church and a mosque stand side by side, separated only by a simple fence. To an outsider, it might appear as a mere coincidence, a product of urban planning. But to those who pause and reflect, it is a powerful testament to what coexistence can look like. The fence, though a boundary, is also a bridge a silent reminder that different faiths can thrive in close proximity without conflict. Within each building, prayers are whispered, songs are sung, and hearts are raised to the Divine, albeit in different ways. And yet, between them, there is peace. This image of shared space is not just about tolerance; it’s about respect. It’s about recognizing that while our paths to faith may differ, the desire for peace, love, and understanding is universal. In a world where division is often amplified, this church and mosque stand as symbols of what is possible. A fence can divide, yes, but it can also unite. And in Jos, it does both reminding us that beyond our differences, we are all neighbors sharing the same soil, the same sky, and the same hope for peace. Honoring the Resilience of South Lebanon: A Call to Action... When I find myself among the resilient people of South Lebanon, I am filled with a profound sense of kinship and admiration. As a daughter of the North, I am humbled by the unwavering spirit of these individuals who have endured unimaginable hardship. Their refusal to be broken, their unwavering resolve in the face of adversity, ignites a deep well of pride within me. In the face of their suffering, I find myself at a loss for words. I am unable to find any words that can truly convey my empathy for their plight. All the words in the world seem inadequate when confronted with the immensity of their anguish in the midst of this brutal war. What words can I possibly find to comfort a sister who has lost four beloved brothers to the ravages of war? How can I ease the crippling fear of a child who has been robbed of their innocence, forced to endure the daily trauma of conflict? And how can I begin to lessen the unbearable anguish of a mother who has had to bury her own flesh and blood, or a father who watches helplessly as the home he built with his own hands crumbles under relentless bombardment? In the presence of these courageous souls, I am rendered speechless, my own tears threatening to spill over. I dare not add to their burdens, for they carry more than any human should ever have to bear. Yet, I am compelled to act, to find ways, however small, to stand with them, to ease their pain, and to honor their resilience. This is not merely a duty, but a call to the very depths of my being. Together, we must explore every avenue, every glimmer of hope, to rebuild, to heal, and to forge a future where the people of South Lebanon can live in peace, dignity, and the freedom they so richly deserve. #Lebanon #SouthLebanon #Resilience #HumanRights #PeaceBuilding #Empathy #CommunitySupport #HumanitarianAid #WarResilience #LebaneseResistance #HumanitarianCrisis #WarCrimes #SupportLebanon #SaveLives #HumanRightsViolations #NoMoreWar #PeaceNotWar #ProtectCivilians

The coexistence of Judea and Palestine in a shared ancestral land is a complex and sensitive issue that requires mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation. Both peoples have deep historical and cultural ties to the region, and finding a way to peacefully share this land is essential for their future. One approach is to promote dialogue and communication between the communities. This involves creating platforms where both sides can express their concerns, hopes, and visions for the future. Encouraging open conversations can help build trust and understanding, which are crucial for peaceful coexistence. Another important aspect is to focus on common interests and goals. By identifying shared values and objectives, both Judea and Palestine can work together on projects that benefit everyone, such as environmental conservation, economic development, and cultural exchange programs. These collaborative efforts can help bridge divides and foster a sense of unity. Education also plays a key role in this process. By teaching future generations about the history and heritage of both peoples, as well as the importance of tolerance and respect, it is possible to nurture a culture of peace and coexistence. Additionally, it is vital to ensure that both communities have equal access to resources and opportunities. Fair distribution of land, water, and other essential resources can help prevent conflicts and promote a balanced and harmonious relationship. Ultimately, coexistence requires a commitment to peace, justice, and equality from all parties involved. By working together with empathy and a shared vision for the future, Judea and Palestine can create a lasting peace that honors the legacy of their ancestors while paving the way for generations to come. #Judea #Palestina #Levante #Canaan #OneStateSolution #Israel #Palestine

CALL FOR PAPERS The Church in Africa is having its good times compared to the global West, which now tags itself a “post-Christian” world. Some of the largest congregations and megachurches are found in Africa, and its leaders are among the most well-known preachers around the globe. With several streets filled with churches, TV and radio stations filled with sermons, and Christians being in positions of influence, including Presidents of nations, why is Africa still underdeveloped? Underdevelopment is a state of economic, social, and political deprivation in a country (or continent this time) compared to others. We believe the gospel is God’s good news and is holistic in its impact. Therefore, the African Homiletics Society calls for papers that address Biblical Preaching and African Development. Patience, Peace, Forgiveness, and Democracy for Syria Syria, a land of shared faiths and ancient history, belongs to all its people—Muslims, Christians, Jews, and others—who have lived together in harmony for centuries. Despite the deep wounds of recent years, let us choose the path of patience, peace, and forgiveness. Patience reminds us that healing takes time. Peace honors Syria’s beautiful diversity. Forgiveness allows us to let go of hate and embrace unity. Dear brothers and sisters, we must also protect the weak among us, for our strength lies in our compassion. And I urge you: do not harm those who oppose you. We are not like them. They are still our brothers. Let love, not vengeance, guide us forward. Syria was once an example for the world—a land of coexistence, resilience, and democracy. Let us rise above division and show the world once again the power of unity, love, and hope. Together, we can rebuild a home where every voice matters and every heart is valued. #Siria #Syria #Democracy

#analysis: Success for Haiti mission as troops take over gang-controlled areas July 26, 2024 "A multinational Security System Support (MSS) mission operating in Haiti, led by Kenyan officers, has taken over areas that were being controlled by armed gangs. This week, the MSS team under the command of Mr Godfrey Otunge managed to clear roadblocks erected along Road Two leading to Gauthier Town." https://lnkd.in/dfZvF_gQ #perspective The three top police officials are leading the Kenya’s Haiti mission tells a story; that whoever made the selection understand spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is the Christian concept of fighting against the work of preternatural evil forces. It is based on the biblical belief in evil spirits, or demons, that are said to intervene in human affairs in various ways. The mission will be led by the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Noor Gabow (Hamitic) heads of operations, Samuel Chebet (Nilo-Hamitic), and Senior Assistant Inspector General, Geoffrey Otunge (Nilo-Semitic). Hatians are largely Bantu, whose Voodoo operates through Luo surnames, which is there key to Kabbalah Tree of Life. It is interesting that the 'House of Otunge'; is there spiritual medium. A spiritual medium is a person who is said to be able to communicate with spirits, especially while in a trance. This practice is called mediumship or spirit channeling and is associated with spiritualism and spiritism. Mediums may use their psychic or intuitive abilities to see past, present, and future events by tuning into a person's spirit energy. They may also work with spirits who have passed away and are at peace. The arrival of the old biblical spirit channeling, of first borns of Table of Nations, spiritualism and spiritism that makes Hatian voodoo useless. The "table of nations" in the Bible is found in Genesis 10, which describes the generations that descended from Noah's three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and the nations that came from them. Tomorrow, June 11th, join us for From Occupied Lands to Occupied Narratives: Unpacking Media Discrimination. In an era where information shapes reality, the control of narratives becomes a form of occupation itself. Join two leading voices in media critique as they dissect this phenomenon through the lens of conflict zones. Fatima Bhutto, acclaimed Pakistani author of "New Kings of the World," exposes how dominant media frames dictate global perceptions, often silencing or distorting stories from regions like Palestine. Her sharp analysis reveals how narrative control extends colonial legacies. Media scholar Adel Iskandar, known for "Egypt in Flux," examines how Western media's language and imagery perpetuate stereotypes, particularly in coverage of the Middle East. He'll show how terms like "clash," "unrest," or "terrorist" carry loaded meanings that dehumanize. Together, they'll show how occupied lands lead to occupied narratives, and discuss paths to reclaim these spaces. 🎬 Register for this talk and more by visiting WhereOliveTreesWeep.com.
