--Bryant University Jacob Drive-- Project Complete ✔️ When you’ve got a tight summer deadline and a sprawling campus to work with, precision and speed are absolutely key. This summer, our team, led by Mike C., took on Bryant University’s Jacob Drive with a clear mission: make it happen, and make it fast - and fast, we did. We tackled the challenge of running conduits from the top of campus all the way to the street, setting handholes at every pole location as we went. But that wasn’t all 📸 —we also installed two exterior enclosures for campus camera equipment, making sure the university’s security infrastructure is as strong as ever. Chris and Sam knocked it out of the park by prepping the poles off-site, and with Jeff coordinating deliveries, the entire load was on-site in just one day. With everything completed on time, Bryant University couldn’t be happier with the outcome. New study from Drexel University and Perkins Eastman finds that K-12 school modernizations significantly impact key educational indicators, including test scores, graduation rates, and enrollment over time. Evidence also indicates that school modernization has a significant positive impact on key educational indicators, including test scores, graduation rates, and enrollment over time. The research team concluded that modernized schools outperformed non-modernized schools to the significant benefit of students, teachers, and staff in almost every category. And data revealed that school modernization made a significant impact across multiple indoor environmental quality factors—such as air quality, lighting, acoustics, and thermal comfort—which can all impact students’ ability to focus and learn. 𝐂𝐉𝐂𝐓 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐌𝐒𝐂𝐏 Completed just before the end of 2015, CJCT's MSCP for the University of Leeds sits on the southern precinct of the city centre campus. Providing 607 car parking spaces, the scheme completely redeveloped a brownfield site: formerly used as part of the university's car parking provision, the development of a MSCP was undeniably a more efficient use for the site. Externally, metallic square shields are imaginatively designed to form an undulating panel arrangement to mimic the double curve of the scheme's original concept. Each square consists of 2 high points and 2 low points on opposite corners, separated by 600mm, generating three-dimensional relief. Adjacent corners share a node point, allowing individual shields to work together to create a single coherent undulating surface which has been designed to achieve the free area required for passive, natural ventilation. The University of Leeds MSCP possesses a sense of quality and permanence, a transparency and character which engages with both the campus and the wider city. https://lnkd.in/gdHFu2em

Bringing Modern Lighting Solutions, to Grade 2 Listed Buildings. Most of our projects see us designing and installing energy efficient lighting systems for new builds and modern facilities. However, on some occasions we have been awarded contracts that take us to heritage sites. Designing and working on listed buildings come with many additional challenges. Part of an ongoing project, working for NSCG (Newcastle and Stafford College Group), to improve their campus lighting and reduce their energy consumption, included the need to upgrade lighting within a listed building on the campus. Tenterbanks Theatre, which is a Grade 2 listed building, forms part of NSCG facilities. In need of updating, it was essential that the new lighting system met the energy efficiencies required by the college, but also align to the aesthetics of this heritage site. Working around the older building structure, layout and limited access etc., we successfully retrofitted the lighting system, to meet the customers' requirements. It provides a much better lit environment for the students and staff, but now it also helps to meet the energy efficiencies goals of the college.
