I started my career as a software engineer after rediscovering my passion. Diving deep into the world of code. Every line of code I wrote, every bug I fixed, made me realize something important: ➡️ I found meaning in solving problems. This drive led me to seek new experiences, pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons. ✅️ One day, an idea struck: Why not create something of my own? Turning concepts into products, making sure they flourish rather than fade away due to inaction. Something that solves real world problems and makes a difference. Hello, I'm Ayomide, and I consider myself a superhero in the world of systems and technology. They say not all superheroes wear capes, but if you were to see my picture here, you might think otherwise—I proudly sport a nice, long cape. 😂 As I reflect on the past year, I can't help but appreciate the significance of the work I do and how it plays a crucial role in the overall work and value chain. In my line of duty, I've realized that when the backend falters, the frontend feels the impact. The infrastructure serves as the foundation for all other applications and services that drive an organization's operations. Over the years, alongside my team at BluDive Technologies Ltd, we collaborated with various clients to minimize downtime, enhance efficiency, and ensure the smooth functioning of their infrastructure. This, in turn, has a positive ripple effect on applications like databases and financial systems, ensuring they run seamlessly. I'm acutely aware that a single mistake or oversight on my part could bring an entire organization to a sudden standstill. The repercussions include increased Non-Productive Time (NPT), financial losses, sanctions from standard organizations, and erosion of trust from their customer base. In my day-to-day activities, I've come to recognize the bigger picture and the impact I can have on an organization. I proudly declare myself a Systems Technical Superhero. From international peace treaties to your Netflix recommendations, software engineers are the ones orchestrating it all. It's not very often that I build personal projects that resonate with several users across five continents. Frankly, it has never happened, so this is kind of a big deal to me. Averaging 83 Weekly Active Users (WAU), peaking at 115 users, is mind-boggling for a project I deployed two months ago with no advertisement or marketing budget. This is one of the reasons I'm thankful to be a Software Engineer; I get to build cool stuff that has the potential to fulfil the needs of someone on the internet—cheers to building more and achieving even more incredible feats. A "day off" used to mean a peaceful pause, a chance to breathe, a night for Netflix. But now, it’s a tornado of tasks: doctors' appointments, visit bank, homework battles, room clean-ups, laundry wars, and grocery store marathon. For software engineers, it’s even crazier— nerve-wracking interviews, swimming in the sea of system design, late-night leetcode, and the pressure to master new technologies flooding in every week. And the days go by without a single note of a song! 😔 However, in the middle of this chaos, all you wish for is a real break, a day without these never-ending thoughts crowding your mind. ✅ Fixed a very tricky SSR issue and got Posthog working: turns out you can't nest a component (with a div) inside a <p> tag otherwise SSR will throw errors when you try to hydrate the component with JS (but it will work if you never hydrate the component, will just generate weird HTML). Now posthog works! #watchdog #buildinpublic
