For those of you who are local to Greenville, NC, you’ve likely seen the construction zone on Dickinson Avenue. Progress is underway to improve 1.3 miles of storm drainage, water main, and gravity sewer main. Our team is just one small piece of the puzzle, as several other improvements are being made to the street and surrounding components outside our specialty. We’re happy to be a part of the team who’s collaborating to revitalize the transportation infrastructure in Downtown Greenville! #Construction #Leadership #TeamWork

"We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." -Franklin D. Roosevelt Construction is a rewarding industry. Not only do the buildings we build immediately provide a positive impact in those communities but they will also continue to impact future generations. At Granger Construction, we find pride in the work that we do but we also see our career impact as something bigger than just the buildings. We want to share that prideful feeling of success, knowledge, and experience to our future generations- building up our youth to carry on that legacy. Our president Dennis J. Carignan lead by example last week. He attended Purdue University to teach students about risk management and share stories about firsthand experience within his career in construction. This may not seem like a big impact moment, but if that conversation sparks passion, excitement, or interest for just one student, that ripple effect could be a big impact moment for that individual... and that's what it's all about. Check out some pictures from his visit here ➡ https://lnkd.in/gNbqMS-8 Proud to work at a company that prioritizes developing our future talent. What a great win! #winsday #grangerconstruction #impactripple #educationmatters #industrydevelopment #constructionmanagementcareers

Groundbreaking climate-focused regulations have been enacted in both Colorado and Denver. While they share similar objectives, their impact on building owners is subtly distinct. We have interviewed some of CMTA, Inc.'s Golden, CO team, Damian Smith & John Goodin, to dive deeper into Colorado’s Building Performance Standards alongside & Energize Denver. Innovate environmental management through genes, bits and sound • AI-augmented Ecologist • I write papers that (ex)cite • Academic dropout #AltAc
For a couple of years now, field season has been extended by a thrilling component. Using elevator platforms, we survey raptors and black storks above the forest canopy in up to 40 meters above ground. Once I feel comfortable with the height it’s a really joyful experience from a unique perspective. #environmental #management #umweltplanung #kartierung

Politics is the main reason...
Thank you to PTV and Ms. Angelique Lazo for giving me the opportunity to share flood mitigation strategies we can implement here in the Philippines. As I have shared a couple of times, the solutions to our flood problem, traffic, transportation, and garbage problem, etc. — we have put it forward in the mid-'70s. Unfortunately, there seems to be no institutional memory to implement them.

TAKE ACTION NOW: The Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint’s 2025 deadline is quickly approaching and despite some major wins for the Bay, we still have a lot of work to do. As Bay leaders plan for what comes after 2025, it is critical to build momentum for this restoration effort. New goals must be set before the end of 2025, informed by the latest science, lessons learned, and with input from partners and community members like you. Urge our leaders to formally recommit to protecting and restoring the Bay, and to set a bold new vision for Bay restoration before the August 30 deadline. https://lnkd.in/e96RuhYu

Just finished reading Show Me the Bodies: How We Let Grenfell Happen by Peter Apps. I highly recommend it to anyone in the construction industry. More specifically anyone who is responsible and/or gets involved with fire safety designs, product selections, checking and monitoring of installations and the list goes on. This book is a very insightful look into the tragic events surrounding Grenfell Tower, highlighting how systemic failures in construction, regulation, and oversight on many different fronts, can have devastating consequences. As I have pointed out, I feel this is a must-read for those of us who serve the construction industry and are committed to doing the right thing, building responsibly, and ensuring safety is never compromised. As Dame Judith Hackitt said “You know what the right thing to do is, so just do it.” 🔗 Check it out on Audible: https://lnkd.in/eV6M7_vH #Construction #Grenfell #SafetyFirst #Leadership #SmokeVentilation #LifeSaftey #ContinuousImprovement #FireEngineering #Design
