So many of the challenges communities face today are experienced nationwide. But the reality is you live and lead in your local community. You care most about the challenges facing your immediate area. You don’t have to solve these challenges on a national level. You just have to make a contribution to creating change in your local community. Chances are, you're already doing great work. You can build on what you're doing, together with others. The history of our country proves real change starts in our local communities. Once it gets started, it sparks a chain reaction that can ultimately grow and spread across the country.

🧐 As I’m doing more research, most people agree that the Inland Northwest encompasses Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. I’m working to better understand what it means to live in the Inland Northwest and I need your help! I am running for City Council to bring people together to solve our common challenges. I’ll be a champion for neighborhoods and help Mayor Mahan complete his Back to Basics plan to make San José safe, clean and vibrant for every neighbor. What does that look like? Here’s where I’ll start: Tackling the homelessness crisis with proven solutions, like building affordable modular housing where it makes sense and providing mental health services. Making our neighborhoods safe by hiring more police officers, while embracing evidence-based crime-reduction strategies, like job training and drug treatment. Fostering economic development and opportunity by revitalizing neighborhood business districts and stimulating high wage job creation.

We are a coalition of #nonprofit leaders, #advocates, #organizers, and #publicsector staff in Contra Costa County. As a Coalition, we aim for: -A true mass movement of Contra Costa County residents that commands the human right to affordable housing, centering the voices and needs of low-income vulnerable residents, -And that tilts the political landscape of our County towards innovative housing development models that put people before profit; an expansion of tenant rights, resources, and power; meaningful and effectively-resourced policy and program implementation; and the treatment of housing as integral to our County’s public health, education, economic development, racial equity, and climate sustainability goals.
