Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment. During Child Protection Week, let's raise our voices and take action to ensure their safety and well-being. Child Protection Week is a crucial time to reflect on the importance of safeguarding children and to reinforce our collective responsibility to protect them from harm. By promoting awareness, advocating for stronger policies, and supporting organizations dedicated to child welfare, we can create a world where every child can thrive free from abuse and neglect. Let's come together to educate ourselves and others, volunteer our time, and support initiatives that prioritize the health, safety, and happiness of all children. Every effort counts in building a future where every child feels valued, protected, and loved. #grestates #childprotectionweek #keepchildrensafe #GeneveAtGREstates

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. TCA is teaming up with the Children's Bureau and its partner, Child Welfare Information Gateway, to raise awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This initiative is rooted in communities working together to serve children and their families in meaningful, impactful ways that provide families with the support they need, especially during challenging times. This year’s theme: "Doing Things Differently: Moving from the Challenge to the Change." urges us to intentionally explore, engage, and invest in innovative ideas to transform the way we partner with families to deliver services and supports. It is essential for us to create a child welfare system that can overcome challenges and provide equitable support to all families. Every step you take to help raise awareness can make a difference. According to the latest national data, an estimated 1,990 children died from abuse and neglect in the United States in federal fiscal year 2022. Approximately 3.1 million children across the country received either an investigation or an alternative response by child protective services, and 558,899 children were found to be victims of child maltreatment. Let’s hope Australia follows this approach
In Compton, CA, Judge Ashley Price is leading the way with a courtroom focused on keeping families together. Guided by ZERO TO THREE’s Safe Babies approach, Judge Price focuses on the mental health and well-being of children under 3, prioritizing family reunification. With a lower caseload and a team approach, her courtroom is changing the way we think about child welfare, making sure families are supported with the resources they need to thrive. Big news for children and families! The Ways and Means Committee just approved two bills with bipartisan support: 1️⃣ The Protecting America's Children by Strengthening Families Act (H.R. 9076): This is a major overhaul of the child welfare system, focused on preventing child abuse and neglect, supporting kinship care, and keeping families together.
