𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭, 𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧 Lioncor is thrilled to have completed the six storey LEED Gold Europe House on Chatham Street, Dublin 2 consisting of 3,000 sq.m of office, exhibition, conference and education space. The project located just off Grafton Street was logistically challenging for all involved as the site is surrounding by a busy one way road system and included a hoarding line just 1 metre from the buildings façade making coordination of deliveries along with traffic and pedestrian management a daily event for the construction team. Designed by Henry J Lyons and built by Flynn Construction, Europe House is the new European Union Liaison Office in Dublin. Along with enhanced office space Europe House also includes the Europa Experience, the aim of which is to educate visitors in relation to the EU’s work. The interactive experience will include cutting edge multimedia stations and a 360-degree cinema at basement level which will allow visitors to participate in a plenary session of the parliament or take part in a role-play game as a Member of the European Parliament or as an EU commissioner. The design of the building is defined by its red brick façade which mirrors the historic Weights and Measures Office on Harry Street that sits directly behind it. The attractive red brick includes architectural feature panels and is punctuated by large windows which form window boxes on the upper floors. The building steps upwards as you move away from Chatham Street enabling the introduction of terraces on the 4th and 5th floors. The project also included a full internal fit out with CAT-b installed to the office spaces, staff facilities and meeting rooms.
