Please see our latest publication, "A Review of Disparities in Outcomes of Hospitalized Patients with Limited English Proficiency: The Importance of Nursing Resources" which has been published in the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved. This manuscript provides new contributions to the area of language barriers and outcomes of patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) research by presenting a new perspective for understanding what system-level nursing factors might underlie hospital outcomes disparities for LEP patients. Informed by a review of extant literature, we discussed the theoretical relationships between organizational features of hospital nursing care (e.g., staffing ratios and nurse work environments) and outcomes for hospitalized patients with LEP.
