We recently received a thank you note from a first-time Heritage Valley Kennedy patient. This patient was frustrated because she had been told by another facility that it would be four months before her CT Scan could be scheduled. We were able to schedule her right away, and she was happy that she made the drive from the North Hills! Ladies, did you know Casper Medical Imaging & Outpatient Radiology were the first to establish breast density reporting before it was mandated? Come September, a new notification law will require women to be informed on their breast density. The FDA issued a final rule under the Mammography Quality Standards Act for a national dense breast reporting standard for both patient results letters and mammogram reports. This means, you will receive a letter stating your breasts are either "dense" or "not dense." Luckily, CMI & OPR has been, and will always be at the forefront of breast imaging and using mammography to determine a woman's breast density is just one of the ways we do so.
