Hurricane Milton is projected to bring damaging winds and life-threatening storm surge to Florida. Here's how you can help: Federal employees and their families may face significant challenges in the aftermath of this storm. Following Hurricane Helene, FEEA is providing disaster relief grants to federal employees across six states, assisting with temporary lodging and storm-related damage. FEEA is again ready to provide support through our Disaster Relief Grants, helping feds cover the costs of temporary lodging, critical home repairs, and replacement mattresses. But we need your support! Back-to-back hurricanes will strain FEEA’s resources. Join us in bringing our #FedsHelpingFeds mission to life and to help federal employees impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton. If Hurricane #Helene and/or Hurricane #Milton caused damage to your home or belongings, make sure to document it. Take photos before you begin cleaning up. Make a list of damaged or lost items & gather receipts. Doing this helps speed up the process with insurance & other assistance programs. #DisasterRecovery #Cleanup #PostHurricane #Nonprofit www.svdpdisaster.org

Hurricane Helene will cost $35 BILLION. The average hurricane costs businesses $22 billion. FEMA reported that 40% of businesses don't reopen after natural disasters, and another 25% will close after 1 year. So, likely 40% of businesses won't reopen after Hurricane Helene. The crazy part? Most people didn't even see Helene as a threat. Yet it has: ➡️ Leveled towns ➡️ Destroyed homes ➡️ And changed people's lives forever As businesspeople, it's our job to positively impact the world. So, how can you help people who are hurting after Helene? I set up a fundraiser through Daffy. We're matching the first $100 to kick it off. Join the Chicago Chapter of the American Meteorological Society in our mission to support communities affected by the devastating impacts of Hurricane Helene & Hurricane Milton. As people face these challenging times, it's crucial to come together and extend our hands to those in need. Hurricane Helene and Milton have left paths of destruction, displacing families, damaging homes, and disrupting lives across the Southeast. The recovery process is daunting and these communities need our help more than ever. "Together We Weather" is a dedicated fundraiser aimed at providing immediate assistance and long-term support for those impacted by these hurricanes. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the American Red Cross to help with emergency relief efforts, rebuilding homes, and providing essential supplies to families in need. Each shirt is $25 (+ Shipping) and will be shipped directly to your home. In this way, we are able to share this fundraiser with as many people as possible, which we hope you can help us do! If you would rather donate a certain amount instead, there is an option to do so as well! Let’s stand united and show our resilience in the face of adversity. Together, we can help weather these storms and bring hope and healing to those affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton. Join us in making a difference! The aftermath of these storms will leave an impact for many years to come. It is in difficult times like this that we should consider what we can do to help those who need it most.
