***BREAKING NEWS*** AXREM FINALIST IN ASSOCIATION EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2024 AXREM are pleased to announce that the association entered and have been shortlisted for two awards at the Association Excellence Awards 2024. The awards that AXREM have been shortlisted for are Best Membership Support for the AXREM Member Accreditation Scheme (AMA) and Transformation Impact Award – Sustainability & CSR for the work done by our Sustainability Special Focus Group. The Association Excellence Awards will take place in London on Friday 8th November and have been run annually since 2015 and were founded to recognise the essential work that associations, trade bodies, unions and professional organisations conduct on behalf of their members. Attended by over 350 association executives each year, the Association Excellence Awards are a trusted and reputable fixture in the calendar. AXREM stands united in the face of the climate emergency, supporting the NHS England in its crucial mission to achieve net zero emissions by 2045. Pioneers in the MedTech sector, AXREM established the Sustainability Special Focus Group, a unique platform for our members to engage and collaborate with the NHS England Sustainability Team and NHS Supply Chain. By working in collaboration we aim to tackle the pressing challenges in achieving the NHS net zero target, positioning our members as thought leaders in this critical agenda. The AXREM Member Accreditation Scheme (AMA) was founded to support members by providing a not for profit accreditation scheme and now has 2300 registrants, and is saving the NHS thousands of pounds. The AMA scheme is specifically aligned with NHS requirements and policies. AXREM has ensured that the scheme is open and transparent, maintaining alignment with NHS and Professional Body stakeholders. The AMS Scheme Council includes representations from Society and College of Radiographers (SCoR), The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), The Royal College of Radiologists and The British Institute of Radiology. Sally Edgington, AXREM Chief Executive Officer said upon hearing the shortlist announcement “I am really proud that AXREM has been recognised in these prestigious awards. To enter two awards and be shortlisted for them both really is a great achievement for AXREM. We have a small staff team who go above and beyond to deliver high quality services to our members every day, and we have a very engaged and committed membership, enabling for the association to have an influential voice. I am really looking forward to attending this event and celebrating all the work done by my team, our members and the other organisations that have also be shortlisted.” Read in full here: https://lnkd.in/e8KPczWG

Reflecting on the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association Diversity in Clinical Trials event earlier this week, it was inspiring to be amongst people who share the same urgency for progress. While progress can feel slow, there was also recognition from the group of just how much positive change has been made so far and this is worth celebrating! Here are some key points that caught my attention: 🔶 The HRA is creating guidelines with four key diversity questions for sponsors in their approval process. Keep an eye out for the consultation on these guidelines later this year. 🔶 Many people struggle to access basic healthcare, let alone clinical trials. 🔶 Study teams need more support and a safe space to talk about the challenges of recruiting diverse participants. 🔶 It's essential to involve community voices in shaping study protocols – involving patients from the start is crucial. 🔶 How do we measure diversity? We need to consider groups outside of the traditional focus areas. 🔶 Technology can help with recruitment, but it's not the only solution. 🔶 Designing studies with diversity in mind is crucial. The message from the panel is clear: diversity should be a priority from the start of study planning! Thank you to all the panel speakers! Naho Yamazaki, Suki Balendra PhD, Jane Bentley, James Buckley MPH, Eleanor McLaurin and Fiona Maini #ClinicalTrials #Diversity #Healthcare #LifeSciences

Full Professor of Microphysiological Systems and Organ-on-a-Chip at University of Twente, The Netherlands
eHealth, mHealth, biosensing, wearables. A wealth of health-related data. But how will we integrate it so that we can truly capture ourselves in meaningful ways? In line with my research interests, I ponder on how microphysiological systems and organs-on-chips will make an impact here. Building digital twins of our organs-on-chips could provide invaluable lessons into capturing the form and function of relatively simple dynamic living systems in comprehensive computational models based on sensor data. Lessons that could then be applied to more complex living systems, including our own bodies. Interested? I would advise you to come and discuss with thought-leaders from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), University of Twente, ETH Zürich and imec at this 1st International Symposium on Digital Twins in Healthcare in Cyprus in May. #DigitalTwins #HealthcareInnovation #eHealth #mHealth #Biosensing #Wearables #OrgansOnChips #EPFL #UniversityOfTwente #ETHZurich #imec #OoC #organonachip #mps #microphysiological #biosensors
With 19 speakers, 6 workshops, 2 problem-driven discussions and 1 interactive poster session, the 1st International Symposium on Digital Twins in Healthcare, May 16-17 2024, Cyprus, promises to be a first not to be missed.
