All APTA Maryland members! Tomorrow (Thursday) night at 8 PM EST is our Legislative Priorities and Strategy Meeting. If you're like me and haven't been to one of these before... this meeting allows us to meet our lobbyists and set an agenda of sorts for the year of what we'd like to see done legislatively. Some potential items on the docket this year: 1. Credentialing delays 2. Medicaid fee schedule 3. Health occupation practice regulations (these are reviewed every five years) With our lobbyists on we are also able to have a conversation with them regarding what might be in the hopper legislatively and their guidance with any and all of these. Ultimately, at the state level, this seems to be the meeting that allows you to voice your concerns about what can be done at the legislative level. At the very least, it's a meeting that will keep you informed about where the money we spend on lobbying goes and what we are trying to work on at the state level. Comment below if you want me to send you the Zoom meeting link and info! #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapyassistant #APTAMD #APTA

Nonmedical supplemental benefits (food, in-home supports, transportation) can fill key care gaps for those enrolled in #MedicareAdvantage. But we don’t know enough about them- are they meeting beneficiary needs? Being delivered equitably? Living up to how they are marketed? Our latest report provides a framework to gather critical information on these benefits to answer these questions and more. Join the conversation tomorrow and the report release!
How can we build the evidence base around whether nonmedical supplemental benefits in #MedicareAdvantage are helping to support enrollee needs and providing value for enrollees, plans, and policymakers? Join ATI Advisory, the Long-Term Quality Alliance, and The SCAN Foundation on February 2 2024, from 1-2 p.m. ET for an interactive #webinar to mark the launch of our new evaluation framework for nonmedical supplemental benefits in Medicare Advantage. Some live key takeaways from our webinar with Caitlin Synovec from National Health Care for the Homeless Council: ✔ Hospitals can provide consistent, predictable funding for programs through contracts and rates. ✔ Even in states where other funding mechanisms exist or are in development, hospital funding supports operational costs and non-billable services. ✔ Medical respite can contribute to hospital goals such as decreased length of stay and reduce readmission rates.
