Much of the energy used for papermaking is renewable and the carbon footprint is surprisingly low… A look across the life cycle of paper shows that its carbon footprint can be divided into three basic elements: greenhouse gas emissions, carbon sequestration and avoided emissions. Each of these elements is influenced by important characteristics that make paper’s carbon footprint smaller than might be expected: it’s made from a renewable resource that stores carbon, it’s manufactured using mostly renewable energy and it’s recyclable. 🎉 The 1st Ganz ESG-report is here! 🎉 We are proud to announce that for the first time, our company has published an ESG-report describing our efforts to operate more sustainably and, as part of this, to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions! 📉 Our firm aim is to reduce our use of fossil fuels by 30 per cent by 2030 and to replace them completely by 2050 thanks to our energy optimization programme! 🌞 To achieve this, our company has already built a 2 MW solar power plant next to our factory in Tápiószele, and it is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2024, supplying both our transformer and rotating machine factories with renewable energy.  We also plan to  👉decrease the amount of waste generated in our production  👉increase the use of recyclable material 👉shorten and make supply chains more sustainable. Solid waste especially unrecycble waste is sustainable, renewable fuel; which provides continious electricity generation unlike other renewable energy source such as solar and wind. WtE with CCUS technology is promising solution for reduction of global CO2 emissions and increasing of this implementation is important for decarbonisation targets. I believe that CCUS technology should be evaluated in terms of technical and economical for new WtE plants also for revision of the existing WtE plants.
