The Hidden Keileon team stands in solidarity with our communities who are affected by the recent far right riots across the UK. As a migrant and queer collective who believes in building futures with justice and freedom for all, we are deeply affected. These acts of hatred are a stark reminder of the ever-perpetuating colonial damage manifested as state-enabled violence towards those dreaming in collectivity with love. We are threatened, but are never petrified. What happened is the direct results of years and years racist and Islamophobic narratives, spread by irresponsible politicians and news outlets. The mainstream media have been weaponising working class struggles to incide demographic division that leads to physical violence, diverting systemic failures towards non-white migrants. It is important to see the shared frustration across various backgrounds, and more crucial to protect communities who have been walking the street in fear of white violence. We call upon our friends, colleagues and peers to stay in community and call out everyday racism, xenophobia, and discrimination. Whether you are targets of the hateful mob or of privileged backgrounds, the far-right fallacy does not stop at one demographic; fascism fundamentally aims to shift economic anxieties towards illusive scapegoat, or the “big other”, and enabled by complacency of silences that dismisses the escalation of evil. No one is free until everybody is free. In Solidarity and with love, angela hui wai nok Bonnie Chan Ghost Chan Jeffrey Choy John Chan Sandra Lam

The racist eruptions and far-right violence of the past few days in the UK are a stark reminder of the importance of our daily fight for human rights. Amidst the darkness, hope and the love of humanity shine through, with thousands of people in London and across the UK taking to the streets to oppose hate and violence, and to protect their neighbours. This is the power of solidarity and why it’s so important to stand united against hatred. We will not be controlled by fear. At Pride in London, we continue our work for a just and inclusive society: to make our voices - your voices - heard. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️✨ To protect those affected by hate and bigotry. To demand that the government guarantees equal rights for communities and minorities under constant attack. Let’s stand for unity, inclusivity, and diversity. 🌈❤️ #PrideInLondon #RefugeesWelcome #BlackLivesMatter #LGBTQIA+ #Humanrights

Racial discrimination and the legacies of slavery and colonialism continue to destroy lives and curtail opportunities, preventing billions of people from enjoying their full human rights and freedoms. This year’s theme is linked to the International Decade for People of African Descent, which spans the timeframe from 2015 to 2024. In proclaiming this Decade, the international community is recognizing that people of African descent represent a distinct group, whose human rights must be promoted and protected. Around 200 million people identifying themselves as being of African descent live in the Americas. Many millions more live in other parts of the world, outside of the African continent. 📍 1500 Steeles Avenue West, Thornhill ☎️ 905-738-0905 📧 info@fourelmsretirement.com #FourElmsRetirementResidence #SeniorLiving #RetirementLiving #RetirementLifestyle #CommunitySupport #BeYourBestSelf #VerveSeniorLiving #InspiredSeniorLiving #LifeAtVerve #JourneyTogether #LifeEnrichment

The prime minister has vowed to do "whatever it takes to bring these thugs to justice" In light of the recent and deeply troubling incidents of violence and racism across the UK, our hearts go out to those affected by these senseless attacks. The recent unrest, particularly targeting asylum seekers and ethnic minority communities, is a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges we face in our fight for justice and equality. As a company dedicated to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), we unequivocally condemn these acts of hatred and violence. We stand in solidarity with all communities impacted by these events and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of their culture, ethnicity, religion, or background. Together, we can make a difference and build a more inclusive and compassionate society. #StopTheHate #DiversityAndInclusion #StandAgainstRacism #CommunitySupport #Solidarity #NoToViolence #EqualityForAll #InclusionMatters #SupportEachOther #TogetherWeRise #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #Belonging #DEIB #DEIBEvents

Why am I here at the Kamala Harris & Tim Walz rally just hours before Shabbos? Because climate change is a major global threat for all our children and their children and we must invest in clean energy alternatives. Because democracy is fragile and desperately needs to be protected. Because global alliances and partnerships need to be nurtured. Because workers deserve fair pay and people in poverty need to be seen and supported. Because severe bans on abortion put women's lives at risk. Because we need less guns floating around and more restrictions on them. Because we need partners who will take a stand against antisemitism and all forms of hate and not fan the flames. Because the Torah teaches me that we should align ourselves with the most vulnerable more than the most rich and powerful. Because ensuring everyone can access healthcare is a top moral priority for caring for citizens and their well-being. Because America's great ally in the middle east needs supporters who support Israel's security and are also willing to always be working collaboratively for peace. Because investing in public school education not only gives each individual a fair chance to succeed but also investing in math & science is in our national security interest. Because our criminal justice system is broken and still views punishment as the primary goal rather than fostering safety & healing. Because we should honor the loving relationships that queer people cherish. Because religious views can help shape our ethics but should be kept out of governmental policy to protect diversity. Because whatever our immigration laws and refugee policies need to be, they also need to have a deeply humane way of treating all human beings fleeing for a safer and better life. Because I ask myself who can do the most for the Torah's prioritized groups of the "ger, yatom, and almanah" (strangers, vulnerable children, and widows). To be sure, I have many critiques of progressive and liberal America for another time. Nothing is ever perfectly clear or pure and no path is ever certain but we have to make choices. I don't believe that political leaders are our saviors or that political change is the most effective path for societal transformation. The brutalities of the marketplace and abuse of state power are everywhere locally, nationally, and globally. The state is a crucial tool but not our answer. But I do believe elections matter enormously and that we need to ensure that, even when we don't agree with everything, that we take sides and that we're on the side that works to raise people up, not just raise oneself up. Today, on May 17th, we mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). This day serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for equality for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. While significant progress has been made, we face a growing anti-trans and anti-2SLGBTQIA+ movement seeking to erase our rights and dignity. This hateful rhetoric translates into real-world consequences. From discriminatory legislation to rising violence, our communities are under attack. Read the full blog article and learn how you can easily take steps to make a difference. https://lnkd.in/gFaj37UE #IDAHOTBIT

Statement regarding the racially motivated riots across the United Kingdom: We were horrified and saddened to hear about the stabbings of innocent children and women in Southport. It was a horrific event that shook both the local community and the entire country. Our thoughts and prayers have been with those affected since. Since then, we have been disgusted to see the far-right, and groups of people, use a horrific event for their political and personal advantage to cause chaos and fear. As well as to harm innocent individuals. We firmly state that: 1️⃣ We stand united against racism. 2️⃣ We believe in the right of freedom of faith and religion, with tolerance and compassion. 3️⃣ We support immigration into this country, and do not associate immigrants with extremist ideology. 4️⃣ We condemn the riots, not protests, that have been happening across the country, and are appalled by the level of violence and destructive behaviour. 5️⃣ This country must unite. We cannot be divided. We must not solely rely on social media for our news consumption. We must fact check… but most importantly, regardless of political opinion, faith or belief, we must realise one simple thing.. We are all human beings, with a beating heart. Our humanity must unite us. We must learn that we have more in common than what divides us. We must stand united against racism at all times. #standuptoracism #notoracism #nohate #stopracism #immigrationmatters #immigrantrights #immigrantstories #immigrantjustice #unityindiversity #refugeeswelcome #refugeeswelcomehere #loveoverfear #loveoverhate #lovewins #diversityandinclusion #diversitymatters #diversityisbeautiful #socialjustice #socialjusticewarrior #socialinnovation #socialimpact #equalitymatters #blacklivesmatter #endracism #accessibilitymatters

This time last year, thousands of trans people and our allies chipped in to found the Trans Justice Project, because they recognised the urgent need for a dedicated organisation to defend our community from the anti-trans lobby. Since then the work we have done to build solidarity in civil society, inoculate the public against disinformation and hate, and to build the power of trans communities has made it much harder for the anti-trans lobby to gain a foothold here in Australia. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a new organisation. In just a few days time we are going to be taking our next big exciting step - bringing together 115 trans advocates and allies from all over the country together to share skills, build relationships, and plan how we win a future where all trans people are safe, celebrated, and free. It couldn't be happening at a better time. In the last year we have seen multiple bills tabled at State and Federal levels aiming to strip away our access to gender-affirming care, campaigns of intimidation by extremist groups, and now a number of anti-trans lobbyists are trying to get elected to state and local councils on anti-equality platforms. This is the same playbook that has decimated trans rights in the US and the UK. The difference is that it hasn’t worked in Australia - yet. We have a plan to push back but we need continued funding to make it possible. To power the Trans Justice Project for the next year, we are aiming to raise $100,000 by June 30. Help us to reach our goal by chipping in, sharing this crowdfunder, and asking others to support our work. We know times are tough so any support you can offer is deeply appreciated. https://lnkd.in/gkADCag8

**United Against Hate Week (UAH)** **Rep. Ilhan Omar Condemns Trump’s False Claim About Haitian Immigrants, Calls Rhetoric Dangerous** The Immigrant Magazine stands in strong solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters as we unite against hate targeting Black immigrants during **United Against Hate Week (UAH)**. Black immigrants face a double burden: the daily struggles of being Black in a world where hate crimes are rampant, and now, the threat of mass deportations from political candidates. Too often, we remain isolated, disconnected from advocacy—but this is a wake-up call. We must come together with our African American brothers and sisters who have battled this racism since the days their ancestors were enslaved. Now, more than ever, Black immigrants—regardless of education or status—must unite. Our strength is in our solidarity. **Gratitude to Ilhan Omar** for her strong condemnation of Trump’s false claims about Haitian immigrants and her courageous stand against the dangerous rhetoric that targets our community. Her leadership reminds us that we must keep raising our voices and standing up for justice.
