Winterflood Research has released its 2024 Investment Trust top picks of trusts on a discount to their underlying net asset value… …what would be interesting is an arch “passive” such as Robin Powell coming up with reasons as to why a retail investor shouldn’t follow this approach (noting his post the other day). I’m sure he will argue: 1. Cost 2. Performance of individual managers etc etc…basically the folly of investing (which he indicated was akin to gambling and even quoted the South Sea Bubble even though that came about as a result of trying to find a solution to Government Debt and was therefore a Public/Private partnership - sound familiar?) …let’s hope he picks up on the post and see what he says? Investment Trust “fans” such as Ben Conway and those who have campaigned hard for better treatment of Investment Companies such as Ros Altmann and Sharon Bowles…any views on these lists? How about The Association of Investment Companies (AIC)….? Afterall…isn’t this what Social Media is all about - opinions! 🤷🏻♂️🕊️ #socialmedia #investmentmanagement
